It could have been Purslow, to grease the wheels of the transfer.

Haha, he's on the wind up in this thread too. Have you said anything positive about anyone or anything in your 33 post career as Gorby?

How exactly am I on the windup in this thread?

I was positive in one of the man of the match threads (Villa, I think), and the 'Ambition' thread. What do you want me to do, say everything is just peachy and we are going to win the League?

i must say, i wouldn't mind a big clear out at at the atm. the futures of some of our players could have been ruined by the crazy ass goings on at the club. could be the best for everyone if the players who continue to under perform are shipped out to other sides where they can rediscover some form, and bring in new players that don't have a history at the club to weigh them down.

if a new manager comes in and he doesn't return to form, then yes. why wouldn't we?

I'd have to agree. At the moment he isn't the same player - if Edin Dzeko (or someone of that standard) wanted to come as a replacement for a disenchanted, ineffective striker who doesn't seem able to get his form back, then yep, bye.

BUT, I'm sure this fug he's in is more to do with our wanky manager and the piss poor "tactical set up" than anything else.

well that's the hope isn't it? part of the problem at the club i think is that nobody's been making the tough decisions, and then backing those decisions up in the market.

hope it doesn't come to that of course. would be great if we never had to replace players again, but that's not realistic. reality is that players will always come and go to some extent. some players will always need to move on, and others will arrive.

I don't think we have a chance with Dzeko. Isn't it rumoured that Wolfsburg owe Juve a whole heap of money for Diego and Dzeko is going to go to Juve to pay it off?

Yeah, but it was reported this week he had actually written to Man City asking them to sign him... Real Madrid too I think.

You're probably right, but it would have to be someone pretty ****ing decent to placate everyone. Llorente maybe.

if we needed to move torres on, and were successful, no one player would be good enough to replace him. i'd want to see 2 world class strikers brought in. or at least a world class striker and one just below world class, and still bloody good.

The hype around his signing in the summer was cringeworthy. He's always been overhyped by the British media for doing nothing.A criminal waste of wages .Thanks Purslow.

A few year's back I thought he was a quality player but since his injury he hasn't beem the same and I think we have been fooled into thinking we bought the Joe Cole of a few years back. Sadly he is a shadow of that player and now a very expensive liability.
