He pissed me off against Utrect when he wasted a free near the end. I've never seen him hit a free in my life & both pacheco &Shelvey were standing there interested.
Think he'll come good in a team playing well, and playing flowing quick football but will look ****e when the chips are down. Similar to far too many of our players in that aspect.

I suspect you've never seen either of them hitting a free kick in your life, either.Originally posted by Drago View PostHe pissed me off against Utrect when he wasted a free near the end. I've never seen him hit a free in my life & both pacheco &Shelvey were standing there interested.

Because the levels of pressure and tension, and concentration etc, are the same for reserve/youth team games, as they are for crucial PL games, when the team is doing ****e.Originally posted by Drago View PostScoring for fun at sheff wed. I know what you're getting at but a free kick is a free kick and has nothing to do with being able to make the step up.
A penalty is a penalty too. Though i suspect that had Roberto Baggio taken his 1994 penalty in a training session or during a reserve/youth team match, instead of in the Pasadena Rose Bowl in front of 94,000 fans, he probably would've netted it.

It's not a big deal anyway. Just thought that maybe one of the two of the players who are really good at them should have hit it.

Even if the Utrecht game isnt 'important', it's still in front of circa 40k people in the ground, and the TV cameras. Quite a bit different from 75 people at the Halliwell Jones stadium. Especially when you're a player in your first season at a club, have been hit by injuries and poor form, and are keen to try and prove yourself to doubters.
