I was looking for a Hodgson leave now option.
Not convinced by Rafa coming back ( even though I was one who was adamant he shouldn't have gone) and not convinced by giving it to the King short term.
Hodgson just has to leave end of subject, anyone else (within reason) would understand our club better and do a better job than the senile bumbling idiotThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

That's what I say too but it's not really true..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I could have kept going with the questions mate but wanted to keep as few options as possible.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostI was looking for a Hodgson leave now option.

I think the only people that can realistically take over if Roy leaves tomorrow is Rafa or Kenny. I cant think of anyone else suitable that would be available straight away.

I mean there are lots of worse managers than Hodgson and that getting rid of him to replace him with someone worse or no-one at all isn't really the 'no-brainer' we all like to imagine.
Obviously I think he's **** and I don't want him at LFC any longer than necessary. In an ideal world I'd sack him instantly, if not yesterday.
But if we're honest, getting rid of him and replacing him with anyone or no-one would not necessarily be a smart move, even though it would make us all feel better to see the back of him.
I realise there are possible replacements who we might well feel would be better but there are very few who we could feel fairly confident about taking the risk on. We don't know how the players might react for a start. Of course we can guess but we don't know.
Replacing Hodgson at this stage might actually make things worse. I realise that's hard for us to accept but it is possible..

I understand your point, but with the hire of Camolli I would assume NESV wants us to be manager independent, sort of like European clubs who maintain their footballing infrastructure and ethos regardless of who the manager is. In fact where the manager is more like a coach instead of a 'manager'.
So a short term improvement or mercenary fixer in the Hiddink mould would probably be ideal until the summer. Granted fixers like Hiddink are not easy to find but they are there.
I think Old Fart Roy is our worst hire of my lifetime and I was born in the 70s, Souness comes second on that list. Rafa came in and had to rebuild our footballing ethos rgardless of what the press says after Houllier made us the most one-dimensional team in European football. However, I fear Hodgson is taking the club down to a road of physical and mental mediocraty, Souness and Houllier NEVER came close to doing that, they at least beleived in themselves and what they were doing however delusional they were and never attempted to drag our culture down to the likes of Charlton Athletic.
My intense dislike of Hodgson actually has me feeling guilty that I could ever feel this way about a Liverpool manager.Last edited by kemm1; 28-12-10, 03:35 PM.

I agree with every word of that (except I wasn't born in the 70s
).
If we could get Hiddink or someone of similar ability then of course that'd be great (as I've said before on here). I can't think of who that person might be though.
Basically we all hate Hodgson being manager of LFC. It's a question of what we do until his permanent replacement is appointed..

Poor old Bender, his PR manager has gone overboard on the booze over Christmas and clearly lost the plot. Sad, sad times.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI mean there are lots of worse managers than Hodgson and that getting rid of him to replace him with someone worse or no-one at all isn't really the 'no-brainer' we all like to imagine.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Would Phil want it though and is he the answer plus Kenny's been out the game for a long time.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI would say get rid of Roy now.
Make moves to get the next manager in as soon as possible.
If we can not get our number 1 choice in now, seek out a short term option until the summer, such as Kenny or Phil Thompson.
