I have to say I'm not totally convinced by this. We need to use this transfer window wisely. Any change will now be mistimed but having a caretaker is as likely to make things worse (for the long term). I guess someone close to the club like Kenny might be able to handle it but IMO he would need a number two with him who had more experience of modern football. Not sure that Sammy Lee counts as he would still be part of the continuity of this phase of bad times.

I agree in principal - I'd rather the long term solution coming in now, but who? Short term we are pretty much restricted to Kenny, perhaps Rafa on a short term deal but that for me could cause more issues than solutions as well.

My feeling is that a lot of the available candidates (Kenny, Rijkaard and Klinsmann) could be decent options but only with a good assistant in tow. It would be great if caughtoffside were right for once.

Hodgson out now and King Kenny untill the summer.Then either keep him on or bring in a top class coach,Van Gaal would be my ideal choice.As much as I love him I wouldn't bring back Rafa,we need someone who'd unite the fanbase.

kenny in charge till the summer, if they have their man identified but cant get him till summertime then we can start moving in his people like when wenger joined arsenal.

that way when the new guy takes over he's got his staff in place and the team already adapting to the way he wants them to play. you can even use the jan window to begin recruiting the players he wants.

all this assumes that nesv know who they want but cant get him now for whatever reason.
