Ryan has been fined £10k and warned about his future conduct

At a Regulatory Commission hearing today, Liverpool forward Ryan Babel was fined and warned as to his future conduct.

Babel admitted a charge of improper conduct relating to comments and images published by the player on Twitter concerning referee Howard Webb.

In summing up, the Regulatory Commission Chairman, Roger Burden, said: "Social network sites must be regarded as being in the public domain and all participants need to be aware, in the same way as if making a public statement in other forms of media, that any comments would be transmitted to a wider audience. It is their responsibility to ensure only appropriate comments are used."

How long before he tweets about this
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Twitter comments, slogans on t-shirts, toplessness in celebrations. Does anyone who doesn't work for the FA actually care
