Wilson was on the bench yesterday, he's not been on the bench too often in his LFC career so far (although Johnson and Carragher being out could have helped )
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I took Wilson being on the bench as the back up left back. What with no Konchesky and all.

I would myself be delighted if Suso, Flanagan and Adorjan got a chance in the first team.

They also play in positions that need strengthening so it would be easier to give them a chance.
Do you mean the Academy or reserves? Academy is the under 18's and none of them deserve a chance until they have played for the reserves.

If you mean the reserves then I would say none yet. Suso may be close towards the end of the season but realistically, pre-season will be more realistic for him. Andre Wisdom, had he not got injured would definitely been a good shout too - he real is a beast of a player who is technically good and quick. I have no doubt he will make it as a centre back. Another player who has improved a great deal is Bruna but that is an extreme long shot.

I highly doubt Amoo will make it.

I called Wisdom as the one to watch 2 years ago when he was playing for the under 18's as a schoolboy in the FA Youth Cup run, mainly because of his physique, he's physically capable of playing 1st team football now, would have featured or gone on loan if he hadn't got injured with England (think it was with England agegroup that he got injured, collision with the Everton lad???)
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

From the reserves the obvious ones are players like Ecclestone, Spearing, Shelvey and Pacheco. Suso looks magic but I'd have thought Pacheco would be higher in the pecking order and they play similar positions I think. Amoo looks a threat on the right as well.

What we can't and wont do is play a load at once.

Further along the line I like Wisdom who's injured and also Sterling and Coady.
He is magic. He plays in a deeper position than Pacheco and is technically superior and far more intelligent than Pacheco.

Wilson was on the bench yesterday. I think Kenny will give him more of a chance than Hodgson did.

i have said this before, during some of our darkest moments this year, that the one thing keeping me going was that for the first time in ages we have some exciting young prospects...

from what i have seen, mixed with what i have heard we have

                Wilson
                Kelly
                Shelvey
                Pacheco

All in and around the first team, looking very promising with

                Suso
                Amoo
                Sterling

                Looking very very promising.

All it takes is one of those to became a first team regular and it's a big help, if we can get one or two as first team regulars and a couple fighting out for squad places...well it could save us a fair whack over the next few years.

I see no one has mentioned Silva. LFC.TV rave about him every time he is playing, but I’ve rarely been impressed. He was good off the bench against Palace though.

Anyone who watches more Academy football than me have an opinion?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

TBH mate, it has seemed for quite a while that we've had prospects but it's not happened for whatever reason.

I think sometimes people forget how good a players has to be to become a member of the Liverpool squad. Maybe the quality isn't there at this moment in time, but not so long back we were regularly in the top 3 and ranked number 1 club in Europe. You can imagine how good a player has to be to get a chance when every game is important.

I think some of our players could have made the first team had they been given a chance, but sometimes when you don't give a youngster a chance, the player stagnates and the chance has gone. I think this applys to Spearing and Darby. Both looked like good prospects but they didn't get the games and they went backwards.

Hammill as well, he should have played some games for us to see how he did, along with Nemeth. Both were top class in the reserves, I can't see why they didn't get 30 minutes in a game when we were cruising. It's all well and good asking where they are now, but players can lose motivation when they miss out at LFC and also fail to develop under less talented coaches.
                    Forwards.......

I'm nearly always impressed by Silva's dribbling, touch and positive attitude, but his final ball is very poor and he hangs on to the ball for far too long. He can improve that though, being so young. I think he's got potential.

He has a swagger about him that I like.

Which players did the imposter get rid of?
I know that Wilson will be one of those who will be on the bench as it was The King who made sure of his signing.

i think it will depend on how our next couple of league games go to be honest - we have a fair few matches in the league before we meet Prague in the EuroDisney........if we win 5 or 6 games on the bounce, then all of a sudden 4th will become the priority and then we will possibly see the players mentioned above play against Prague.....

I think kenny will be more eager to give young players a chance to be honest.....put it this way, i don't think kenny would have signed Poulson AND konchesky for a combined fee of 8m or whatever - he'd have trusted the likes of Insua and Shelvey instead and brought a proper £8 - £12m player (someone like VD Vaart)

£5m and two youngsters for Konk.
                              £4.5m for Poulsen.

Both on something like a 4 year deal, on big wages no doubt

Just watched the highlights of the youth cup game v Palace. We were ****ing amazing to watch at times. Reminded me more of Arsenal than Liverpool. Only draw back was we adopted the Arsenal way of trying to walk the ball into the net at times. But I don't joke when I say we could have scored ten or more.
