The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

      Haha

Can't be much of a deterrent if it doesn't even put off the Sunday leaguers.

        Forty quid?!

That's not much more than a Sunday League red card

        What's the ****ing point

I think they made a typo.

I bet they didn't, it'd be typical of the FA. The amount is probably in keeping with all the amateur leagues in the country, as they all play under the FA's rules. Dunno what a red card is these days as I've not played for ten years but if memory serves it used to be twenty quid back then. £5 for a booking. I never paid my fines and was technically banned until they were paid.

I didn't know the FA covered the amateur leagues as well.

What is it being docked '4 penalty points'? It's like a speeding ticket right?

I dunno, that stumped me too.

It's probably fine-related too. Every penalty point is worth 10p in fines

The fines are the same for all clubs, no matter what league. Its the clubs that fine the players.

The FA look at it like, if you fine a Premiership player £10000 for a red card then they have to do it for the lowest leagues. The punishment has to fit the crime, not the league. Its stupid

Surely you could fine them a percentage of their wages though?

Or a percentage of their wages or £40 (for people who don't get paid for playing) whichever is the higher.

He can use the time off constructively to 'mind some cars' and raise the much needed funds.
