The selection was strange, I agree, but we were far more adventurous, Poulsen was even marauding forward two or three times and we were pressing much higher. No way it was a negative performance.

Maybe that was our downfall as I think we couldn't sustain it second half and as soon as Blackpool upped the tempo we were all over the place.

It's going to take time but I can see improvements.

Fair points mate. Any line up that i see for LFC that contains Jovo,Poulsen,Lucas,Meireles & Kuyt just doesn't strike me as attacking. None of those players are attacking IMO.

-Jovo is literally the ultimate headless chicken.
-Meireles is just there, actually doesn't do anything.
-Lucas looked head and shoulders above anyone in midfield but is very defensive
-Kuyt looks like his legs weigh about 18 stone.
-Poulsen wasn't embarrassing tonight, but he is a medicore player and is ultra defensive, sure he can't even run for gods sake.

I love Kenny but he did get it wrong tonight. When you get a footballing lesson from Blackpool, you know things are bad.

Whether the squad is just a broken group of players with zero confidence, or just plain ****, is up for debate. I know people are tired of hearing it but the bulk of this squad achieved 86 points not so long ago. So either the players are **** and Benitez worked wonders and over-achieved with a **** team, or they're much better than they're showing and are just broken beyond repair.

Either way there is a rot in this squad that needs sorting out.

Yeah, we were on fire a couple of seasons ago but the older boys were two years younger - Kuyt (worst of all), Gerrard and Carragher have gone backwards. Torres was on absolute fire (albeit still injury prone - we STILL haven't learned our lesson and brought in a backup striker).

And we had Alonso and Mascherano in the middle.

their goal came out of a meireles mistake and thereafter i think blackpool were the better team.

We lack a lot of things in this squad, some decent players for a start, some ****ing bottle in midfield and some creativity out wide.

Kuyt - has had some **** games for us but this was one of the worst.
jova - you can see why they dont use him cos he's ****
meireles - pussy, dog**** footballer and total waste of money
johnson - brainless turd who cant defend. should play wide right instead of kuyt

Ironically, i dont think poulsen did much wrong. Kelly was very good, its nice to have a right back who can actually defend for a change, agger looked very composed on the ball and lucas was full of energy.

The owners need to sign a quality wide player like ashley young, buy gokan inler and send raul back to portugal the ****ing spastic.

Kenny was not helped by the **** from the players today.

Liverpool will always attract players, then there's Kenny. We aren't doing well at the moment but with the right management and strategy, we'll be there. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem we're going to buy our way to the top, it's going to take time and will need a lot of patience.

I agree mate, its going to take time. People sometimes miss the line between reality and football manager. If we sign 4 players this January that cause Craig H to post "sex wee" jokes I will honestly eat my cat's ****, and I'm pretty sure he has worms.

benitez training used to be fairly lax because he knew that players couldnt give 100% in training sessions and keep the same level of intensity in matches. So the training sessions were kept light and when the schedule allowed it, they would fit more intensive, fitness building sessions into the weekly training.

You cannot possibly train at full pelt 4 times a week and then turn up fresh for matches. Thats not the way this works. I think whats happened is that they fitness coaches during the pre-season got the programmes wrong because apart from lucas, the rest look totally ****ed already.

Think Jovo was given a "show me you can do it" start in the game. He won't play again.

All the other players are established internationals. Raul can't be that poo if he gets in the Portugal XI can he?? He looks like he has 2 left feet!

Kuyt and jova, yes. They are strikers making it a starting lineup with 3 strikers.

But we know that they aren't attacking players. Kuyt might have been in Holland, and Jovo might have been in Belgium but not in the premier league IMO mate.

I was very disappointed with the line-up, thought it was ominous as many on here did. We really need a clear out, the king made some mistakes tonight but he has inherited some serious dross i must admit.

Every single one of Roy's signings has been appalling this season. Also Glen Johnson.... well enough said there. We need to be making moves in January or we're up **** creek.
