Only the centre forward needs to be fit in order to chase all the hoofs, and funnily enough, Torres was one of our better players today!

He's been **** the last two games, I'll give you that. But he's put in a few encouraging performances before that and clearly knows how to pass a ball.

He was injured before the United game. Perhaps he has been rushed back not fully fit?

According to the BBC report he was one of our better players...

Talking of Cathcart, I thought he was excellent tonight and at only 21 could turn out to be some defender in a few years. On the downside he used to play for the scum.

Awk the odd nice pass and flick but no real end product.

Nothing to get too excited about, for a so called attacking midfielder that's not really good enough. I know he worked well with Lucas in a few games in an around Nov/Dec time but since then he's been really disappointing.

I just hope that the line up was designed to be workmanlike as he felt confidence was low and just needed to battle for a win..........once he has worked with the squad and got his ideas through to the players then maybe we will play a more expansive game with more skilful players

Now to our lot, well, quite simply we are a shambles!

Some of the reaction on here is WAY over the top

This was nowhere near as bad as some of our performances recently

We lack quality thats clear but at least we are showing more passion and fight than we have been

We have also moved up the pitch and have pressed higher

We'll get better, it's been an improvement but I feel we lost our control second half. It's got to be said, we hardly played high tempo football under Hodgson, the players are going to take some time to get this back. It's encouraging, Nando is looking hungrier and the service to him, for the parts we were on top was encouraging. We were feeding him into the channels, the way he likes them.
