Ronaldo came to United at 18, Nani at a similar age and even in their first season's at United you could see the potential in flashes. Touches of magic here and there.

With Mehreles, you're talking about a 27 year old who has over 40 caps for Portugal to his name and lets be honest, aside from the odd nice pace and touch, he's offered sweet **** all to the team and at a cost of £11 million he's not proving to be value for money.
No goals, very few assists, no end product. No nothing really.

I do understand that some players take time to settle in different country, league etc but there is on many occasions the situation where some players are just not cut out for the premier league. IMO Meireles is one of those, same as Aqua IMO, would do much better in slower tempo and less physical league.
I just dont know how you can make such a conclusive and emphatic judgement based on half a season, and half a season where the Hodgson handicap was present.

We've seen countless foreign players come into this league and look **** at first, before becoming exceptionally good. Some have even needed 2 or 3 seasons. Cant judge so early.

Such rash judgements can make you look silly further down the line.

        Very disappointing.

The amount of players in our team that should not even be near our squad is scary.

A huge amount of work to do. We need to be careful we don't get sucked into a relegation battle. 3pts against the Bitters is essential now.

            Firstly, his name isnt Mehreles.

Secondly, even at 27, it's a major difference, and the age thing doesnt remove that. It can still take time.

Kneejerk reactions are the stuff of buffoons.

Too lightweight. Panic buy signing like Aquilani was. He's been poor

Being perilously close to the relegation zone is going to put even more pressure onto the players' shoulders, it's another battle, totally different from playing with confidence and fighting for titles. No one at the club is experienced at all in that kind of dogfight. We may need Neil Young to help us out.
                Are we winning?

we need a player that can pick out a pass and for me Raul just isn't that person, he's been awful this past couple of games after a promising start

was nice to see Torres well up for it tonight again but our defence is awful.
bottom line, we need to sell of the **** and spend some money.

                  over to you NESV...
We need a proper midfielder, someone who can dominate, tackle and pick out a pass. Can't believe we've gone from Alonso and Masch, to the pile of wank we have now.

We need a right winger/attacker, Kuyt is finished as a player, should have got rid last summer.

We need a left winger/attacker as we've not had one since John Barnes.

These three positions need to be sorted this month, then the rest in the summer.

I'll take my chances Craig. Some players 6 months or not even that, just aren't suited to the league. I'm not saying Meireles is ****, just expressing the opinion i've had of him from the day we signed him.

I tell ya Craig your some man for the personal insults an digs over the net. Does everything have to turn into an argument or insult ridden saga with you FFS? Its just football talk, no need for that ****, not necessary at all.

What's worrying me is the job Dalglish and the team have in restoring some confidence in all the players. There is also a serious lack of work ethic, creativity and fight within the squad which needs addressing otherwise we WILL be in a releagtion battle.

I don't want to go off a tangent but the bulk of that team are nowhere near good enough, it will be interesting to see whether Kenny can get more from them than Roy did. I just don't know whether he can, I really don't.

Perhaps he needs to speak to them all collectively as a unit and on an personal basis and try and find out what they're all feeling and how they can all work together as a team to improve things because ulitmately it lies with them.

I am just hoping that his influence can have a positive effect on the players.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

What we need to do is to get rid of ALL the players that can't play free flowing football, all of them. The game today is all about being quick, excellent technique and pass and move football. The time is gone when players like Kuyt could add that bit extra to a team.

The game has changed so much just in the last five six years.

Give some of our young players from the reserves and the Academy a chance. Players that can play free flowing pass and move football and is used to do it week in week out.

They wouldn't do any worse than players like Kuyt, Jovanovic and Poulsen for example. They would also be prepared to give 100% 100% of the time.

Get rid of the players that slow down our play and give players that would speed it up a chance.

Then tonight we had Carragher and Gerrard out injured... that's nearly the first team from when we came second.

Problem is none of the players brought in to replace them have the same quality as their predecessors.

And our outfield spine of Carra, Gerrard and Torres is not the same as it was that season due to a combination of aging, poor form and injury.

LOL you really are in denial when it comes to the squad dude aren't ya.

Yes a bit of settling in time is needed, fair enough, but at the same time you'd like to see some signs that eventually he'll be a useful player for us. With him i don't see it.
