Squeeky bum near the end....we seemed quite nervous tonight.Lucas being absent makes a difference,he really was missed tonight.
I really don't think that Shelvey is ready for first team yet,not seen anything from him to convince me that he will be a top draw footballer.I would have prefered to have seen Cole given 20 mins instead.

I disagree, that has to be the worst midfield performance of the season. Disjointed, lost possesion, unable to gain possesion, unable to break up play, hardly won a tackle
Really, even under Hodgson? No way we were that bad. We got tired in the last 20 minutes because all that pressing and high tempo game took a lot out of the players. They were not used to that under Roy Hodgson. Gerrard was a bit short as well today, which may explain our below par performance, but we won, would never have happened under Bodger.
