Anyone with a yellow card will probably be rested. We'll **** these and then the players on a yellow will play against PSV, sealing our qualification to the next round and it wont matter if they get booked as we wont need them against Galatasary and bookings are wiped clean for the next round.

Don't know about Tuesday night but I hope Rafa plays the same 11 against Reading as he did against Villa.

By the way, do you remember me telling you that this group would be a walkover back on KT??
        What's KT?

A win will see us safely into the knockout stages of the CL and we're all basically expecting a fairly comfortable 3 points, i would assume.

          Your team?

          I'd go with:

          Pepe
          Finnan
          Carra
          Sami
          Riise
          Stevie
          Momo
          Alonso
          Garcia
          Crouch
          Kuyt

          Subs:
Dudek, Warnock, Aurelio, Pennant, Zenden, Gonzalez, Fowler

Virtually picks itself, or do people have other variations that they'd suggest?

I thought about the possibility of 'resting' people, but next up is Reading at home and we should be able to beat them, even allowing for a bit of rotation. So that's when i'd rest a couple. Only 2 or 3 mind.

Obviously Rafa wont pick that side, as there'd be no changes, but that's what i'd go for.
I'd go along with the same team DJ, i'm not sure Rafa will though

It might sound arrogant, but let's be honest, Bordeaux are utter ****e.

I hope and expect Agger to play, Stevie to be rested and maybe even Pennant to start.
Gulp, don't say that, you're inviting hubris. In the second half they looked quite good and we only just clung on.

That'd be a nice gesture, especially if we don't have anything at stake, maybe even throw a few kids in, if we can.
don't think Rafa's very big on sentiment.

Momo is a doubt for this game. Could be on the bench. Nothing major but got a kick in the Villa game.

Nope but theres no harm in it, providing we've topped the group already.

Hardly surprising, he was born and bred in Madrid.

Same side then v's Villa? Just like to add that i think that if we win our next 2 CL games which are both at home,we'll win the group & the Gala game will be irrelevant & just send a reserve team out there.
If anyone else has said the same thing, apologies, couldn't be arsed reading all the posts.

Is that the problem though, too many permutations, too many options means too many changes?
                        Just a thought

If you're suggesting our squad is far, far too big, I'd agree.

The problem is the insistence (sp?) of the gaffer to keep using each different permutation.

I'd always prefer to have the options than not, but just because they're there, doesnt mean you have to utilise them every game.

True but a bigger squad means a bigger wage bill and more unhappy players.

In my opinion, there's no real need for Aurelio or Zenden in our squad.

Cant have it both ways though, if we're a 'big club', we're gonna have a big squad. Par for the course.

Without Zenden, we'd have zero CM backup.
