Great pass and move performance. Suarez very much looked the part.

One thing I was pleased with was the way we didn't retreat into our shell when they went looking for an equaliser, which we have done in the past (last week against Fulham for instance). Suggests that confidence is really coming back.

Another clean sheet. Looks like Steve Clarke is doing a good job. Have we actually conceded since he's joined?

I'm starting to think that Dalglish just doesn't rate him. He has been ****e whenever he's played for us.

Kelly is way better at defending than he is attacking, so playing as a wing back with more emphasis on attacking is not his best position.

I hope the formation was a one-off to counter the aerial threat of Stoke, because at times we looked short of numbers up front, despite being at home and playing against a mid-table team.
At least we are back to a positive goal difference in the League (until you-know-who is back in the side).

Agree but compared to so many games against these anti-football teams we managed to keep calm and collected, passed the ball and didn't let their physical approach scare us - that's a big step forward

Clarke's role cannot be overlooked IMO, hope he stays along with Kenny and doesn't get too ambitious about managing!

I think at the moment it is the other way round imo. He has been caught out definitively often recently, tonight I thought he was sloppy on the ball though.

He made a few mistakes but so what? Every player makes mistakes in games. It's hard playing against battling sides like Stoke. He's still learning the game and it's not as if he's a dozy scatter brain.

Folks need to learn to have faith in the King.

Suarez a MOTM contender despite coming on as a sub. Can't say enough about how good a debut that was. Brilliant touch and vision. And netting me £70.

Like I said from the very start, we're going to be a lot better off with Suarez & Carroll from now on. We look a team again.

Collymore confirmed on radio that the premier league have officially given Suarez the goal.

Whoever was presenting with him went on about nobody ever scoring an own goal again if that wasn't but Stan was having none of it.
