I think a lot of his errors etc get washed over because he is an academy player.

I agree, we pretty much nullified the threat, at least from open play, making them fight for every high ball. I just don't want us to fall in love with he system because it worked a treat against Stoke.

I am not saying that, I think the praise of him is hyperbolic and I do worry that he will be over exposed. I don't think he is ready to be a starter just yet.

Unless he has an injury, Joe Cole's days at Liverpool are numbered.

No reason whatsoever for him not to be on the bench at least.

Yup, that's what I'm thinking too. I guess that he doesn't fit in with Kenny's and FSG's vision. The first people to be phased out of our squad over the next year will probably be the likes of Cole, Kuyt, Maxi, Carragher and so on.

He has been **** for us so far, but he's still a good player and probably just needs a run of games to find form. Though I'm sure he won't be here next season.

I don't. If a player is in the first team and starting I judge him like anybody else. Kelly is a good player, has been good all season and although he might have made a couple of mistakes tonight, he certainly didn't play "bad"! I don't think anybody did. Kelly is a good player and will be a great player for us for years to come!

I think you're over harsh. You've commented on this for the last few games. He hasn't conceded a penalty, scored an own goal or hacked someone down stupidly. The odd time he backs off and gave the ball away but overall he's been very consistant imo.

You may be on to something with the academy comment though, not that I think me or others gloss over his mistakes but more that we pick up on similar errors from other players. Mind you most of the other players are internationals so they no excuse!!

I think Cole would be the first senior player to be considered surplus to requirements, not sure I agree with your suggestion about Kuyt, Maxi and Carragher - they all still have a role to play.

Agree mate. We all know he is a good player, but we need to bring in somebody who is going to excite and who is a proper winger. Cole cuts inside and prefers to play down the middle

Just not sure he's quite got the pace to be a right back. Big fella too, solid in the air. Him and Agger would form a very handy partnership.
