Might as well give it a good go while it's still possible
    Agree with all that

Next weekends fixtures is a big one IMO.

Man City travel to Old Trafford. If they slip up and we win of course, the gap will be 8 points

Spurs travel to Sunderland, lose that and we could get that gap down to 3 points (Spurs with one game in hand).

Whilst Chelsea travel to Fulham who have suddenly hit form. Local derby for them.

      --------

I wouldn't expect all three to slip up, but good chance of two of them dropping points so we have to make sure we win against Wigan and apply the pressure as we will drop points ourselves on the run in.

Question for you guys. Say Man Utd (heaven forbid) win the Championss League this year. Would there be an extra spot for 5th place?

I never said it is going to be easy, nor am I saying we will do it. I still think it is highly unlikely as we have to rely on two teams from five dropping more points than us. If we were needing just one team to crack I'd fancy our chances.

I think teams will drop points, I just still can't see us getting something like 28 -30 points from 36 points. But if we could that would be just about enough methinks.

At least it makes the League campaign that little bit more exciting anyway. Top 6 looked out of reach about a month ago, now we're talking about top 4 which just goes to show what 4 or 5 wins can do.

Some turnaround that's for sure, can't believe how well it's going.
With Carragher back organising the defence, Suarez to come in and Carroll hopefully only a few weeks away from action there's alot to look forward
            to between now and May

I'm not sure, i would presume no because we only got back into the champions league because we finished 5th, did Italy have an extra spot this year?

Edit: Just checked, Italy only had 4 teams in this years champions league, so United winning wouldn't make 5th an extra place

I think this season could be like 2 years ago. Looking back and think a lot of what ifs.

Reina error agsinst the arse and Mancs late winner, Spuds very late winner - without those we'd only be 10 points off top with Utd still to come to Anfield and 3 being Spurs with them also needing to pay us a visit...

Big up side of it all is that they have shown there are so many positives to take to next season.
                Football without Origi is nothing

No, there isn't, countries only have there 4/3/2/1 teams (depending on how many spaces they have) qualify

                      No there wouldnt.

The nightmare scenario would be somehow snatching 4th place, and then Chelsea or Spurs (dont laugh) winning the CL.

Obviously though, if we were to snatch 4th, by that stage, hopefully both will be out of the CL.

If we were to finish 4th, we'd be needing someone like Barcelona or Milan to win the CL.

When we finished 5th didn't the bitters still get a place in the CL?
