    No it isnt.

If that happened, the team finishing 4th will NOT qualify for the CL.

There cannot be 5 teams from one country, in the CL. Uefa clarified all this back when we won it, but finished 5th. We were allowed in by Uefa, and England had 5 representatives, but that was a one-off and will not happen again.

It was a one-off, because Uefa had been backed into a corner, with a situation that they hadnt set aside a ruling for. They clarified it after it happened, and they've made sure the rules are now clear, so it cannot happen again.

If a side finishing outside the top 4 wins the CL, they will be in it again, and the side finishing 4th wont be.

Yep, the other time it happened was with Madrid and they just got given someone else's place.

Gotta be loving that Spurs have 3 away games in a row. Their away record is won 5, drawn 3, lost 4 - and with a negative GD. Sunderland away is ****ing hard, Blackpool can give anyone a game on the pier, and Wolves away isnt an easy trip either (we just made it look easy).

Next 3 weeks could be interesting.

It would be utterly remarkable if we did make 4th after the season we've had. Really would be some achievement. Honestly, I think its a huge ask and may turn out just to be a touch too far... but whether we make it or not its just so bloody good to be looking up the league with optimism and a little bit of excitement. Pride and faith restored, thank you Kenny and FU Hicks, Gilette and Hodgson.

Finishing above Chelsea however would just be utterly epic, beyond epic even for its fingers up to Torres potential. Chelsea finishing outside the top 4, which is a real possibility even if its not us who top them, would still make me laugh an awful lot.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                      Mine angry and defrauded young?

a neutral friend told me that if we finish in the top 4 this season, we would need to build a statue of kenny. he's right, you know.

as for the rest of your post, i refer again to what i said this morning, waiting for the toilet at the pub. come the end of the season, lfc will be above chelsea, and mrs. torres will be beneath john terry.

                        fahhhhcht.

Plenty of incorrect information about the CL places in this thread.

                          For the record.

England did get 5 places the year after we won it and Everton came 4th. Everton, however, ****ed up and got knocked out in the prelim round.

In response to this happening, UEFA changed the rules to state that a particular FA only got a certain amount of places, regardless. If a team won CL and didn't finish in their league's CL places, the lowest team in the CL places (4th for England) would miss out.

So if Chelasea win the CL and finish 5-6th, they will get a CL place next year and 4th won't.

Just a thought. Also, don't want us to get ahead of ourselves, so take a heavy dose of knocking on wood with the following statement:

The last time we beat Chelsea away in the League, we qualified for the Champions League.
No! I am NOT in denial!
