It's a big ask, but i think if we can win 9 (or maybe 10) of our remaining games, we'll get 4th.

I've done the BBC predictor several times, and tried to be as generous as i can to Liverpool, but we just seem to miss out or its shockingly tight. Truth be known we can't afford any slip ups if we want to consider 4th place, but unfortunately us not losing for the rest of the season and taking points off all of our rivals or the likes of Arsenal,United & City etc is a tall order.
I love the idea of it but i think we just left ourselves with a bit too much to do unfortunately, which is annoying but the fact that we are even talking about it says something.
P.S. Fulham & Sunderland taking points from Chelsea & Spurs respectively would be a nice start though

I think people underestimate how difficult this time of the season can be, with regards to 'top clubs' and the points they will drop.
Chelsea are looking wayward as it is, and as the pressure grows, funny things can happen. They also have the CL coming back and this will have an impact. In a weird way, much as i dislike Chelsea and Spurs, i think it's best for us if they both go another round in the CL. Chelsea will, without doubt, but Spurs may not.
And Spurs, unlike Chelsea, arent too experienced in this situation. They held their nerve last season but this time around, with the CL to consider, i'm sure they will buckle. I already expect something to give this weekend, as they play away at Sunderland in the 5:30pm game (not good for them), before travelling away to Milan on Tuesday night in their biggest game for decades.
I cant see Harry Redknapp fielding his best side at Sunderland, he will undoubtedly rest some, and Sunderland have only lost 2 home games this season in the league (the 2nd of which was only recently against Chelsea), so it's a very tall order for Spurs.
Chelsea have a potentially tricky derby at Fulham on monday night where, if Fulham are motivated, they could make it tricky for chelsea.
Following that, Chelsea's next league game is Man Utd, then Blackpool away, followed by Man City.
That trio of games alone, could easily see them only picking up 2-3 points. You certainly wouldnt back them to win all three.
So as i say, i think that if we do our bit, we'll get it. 9 or 10 wins from 12 though, will be a mighty tricky task.

You'd rather we came 4th and the mancs win the league instead of us winning the league and the mancs coming 4th?Originally posted by kingfunk View PostI'd rather we finish fourth and mancs win the league than the other way around.

Haha very good, me bad. What I meant is I would rather that than us finishing outside the top four and mancs not winning the league, obviously if it were the only choices.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostYou'd rather we came 4th and the mancs win the league instead of us winning the league and the mancs coming 4th?

I can see chelsea winning them all actually. thats the quality they have in the side.
they are in last chance saloon with respect to the title AND if it all goes t1ts up, even 4th is perhaps under threat. they'll be extremely motivated and will beat fulham due to the latter. then they are 6 pointers vs both the manc teams to go for the title. It'd be great for them to draw but can see them getting 4 points at least.
blackpool, just like fulham. stronger side will pull through I think.
So this series of games is season defining for them and they know it. they have the kick up the backside that was defeat to us last weekend to remind them.
At some stage I can see chelsea pulling a run together to take them to finish 2nd with arsenal/city 4th and a two way between ourselves and spurs for 5th.

Getting excited just reading that, think its well within our capabilities to finish in the top four this season. Wigan is going to be tricky, although its at home, its these teams that we seem to somehow run into problems withOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostI think people underestimate how difficult this time of the season can be, with regards to 'top clubs' and the points they will drop.

I would prefer we look after our one. Get top 4 get some players in and equal them next year.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostHaha very good, me bad. If we get top 4 then one of city, chelsea or spurs will have a not so happy squad to........_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

Man U to beat Chelsea twice and in the process we get 4th but united win the league, or Chelsea spank utd twice and Arsenal win the league?Originally posted by red g View PostLiverpool have an undaunting run-in
Chelsea have a game in hand on Liverpool but there's no guarantee that they'll pick up any points against table-topping Manchester United, who they still have to face twice. Tottenham have a game in hand too, however the worry for them is that just one of their final 13 matches is against a club placed between eighth and 14th, the ones likely to have the least to play for in the closing weeks, and therefore more favourable opponents than those fighting relegation, of which Spurs clash with seven to Liverpool's four. Encouragingly, Dalglish's side meet only four of the ten teams that have already beaten them in their closing 12 ties, and each of those encounters takes place at Anfield.
I'm having issues with this scenario
