    Yeah, i'd agree with that.

It's like the old adage about how, the more a man earns, the more he wants

I'd have bitten anyone's hand off, even for a realistic chance of 5th, back in December or even last month. In fact, i remember after beating Wolves away, i was thinking that we'd be content with a comfortably top-half finish, say 8th or 7th.

But the closer you get to the top few positions, the more you want

It'd be a massive ask for sure, but until it's mathematically gone, there's always hope for something bizarre to happen above us.

we can always hope, and its great that we are even talking about it. Good times ahead for LFC. A new life into the club and the supporters, very refreshing. Pity Kenny wasn't drafted in about a month earlier but sure what can ya do.

I think realistically 5th is probably the best we can hope for
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

For me 5th is doable, 4th is still possible but unlikely

                Really?

We are starting to look like a team again, with Suarez still to settle properly and Andy Carroll still to come in, I think we have a decent team capable of challenging for the top 4 next season. I think we need a few more players if we are to challenge further up the table and put a title challenge together. Obviously if the other top 5 clubs spend vast amounts of money in the summer that would change things, but if the new season were to start with the squads as they are now I'd fancy our chances of top 4.

Geordies now only 4 behind us. This league is mega ****ed up.

Don't agree with that. I'm not saying we have a champions winning team yet but we definitely have one capable of top 4, especially with Suarez, Carrol and one or 2 young ones coming through.

We had a very bad Manager for the first half of the season.

Yeh but half the problem with our position and points total was having a **** Manager for the first half of the season.

We could have had a lot more points than we do with a different Manager and then they'd be more than 4 points behind.

I'm optimistic for next season. I want some changes but not too many because it will upset the team (look at Man City).

I want to see 2 or 3 top top players signed in the summer, 4 or 5 squad players shipped out and 2 or 3 young ones promoted and given more minutes on the pitch.

Dunno if any cunt has mentioned it in the thread, but next season - and to spice things up, Nicey agrees with me - we're gonna win the league next season. I'm delighted with the signings of Carroll and Suarez and can't wait to see them paired together but IMO i still feel we need 5 new players minimum this summer.

When you look at the competition we're facing, making top 4 is a daunting prospect:
                        - Scum won't be anywhere but near the top again next season
                        - Arsenal have yet to fail to make top 4 since the Premiership began, enough said
                        - City can and will only get better(£££££)
                        - Chelsea...an ageing side and i do think they're the most vulnerable of the top4/5 but they still have world class players and i'm sure they'll buy big this summer as they look to bounce back
                        - Spurs...not the finished article but they've got a squad with plenty of quality and you can't see them declining any time soon

Despite a good run of results which don't get me wrong is encouraging, that shouldn't gloss over the fact that the Liverpool squad needs a bit of a shake up come the summer.

I also have some other issues and worries about the squad and individual players but i'll not go into that too much.

Spurs losing 2-to Blackpool. If it stays like that, Spurs are still catchable - especially with them having to come to Anfield.

3-0 game over, but i see it as as great result for Chelsea to be honest, we are still way off.

We've no chance of finishing 4th this year.

8 points behind spurs, 11 games left.

The forumula i go by, is the 'if the points gap is equal to or greater than the number of games you have left, you are ****ed'.

                                Still a small chance.

It's probably good for us if Chelsea & Spurs stay in the CL as long as possible. As long as neither wins it
