Either play him on the wing or **** him out of the club and get a full back who can defend. You know that thing a full back should be able to do first and foremost.
I'm not trying to say he's an amazing defender, that is not the point im trying to make, I do think some of the criticism he gets off a minority is OTT, similar to some of the criticism Lucas used to get, before he proved he is actually quite decent.
Im just trying to reiterate the point that playing Johnson on the right side of midfield or as a more advanced right wing back with 3 cb's could be beneficial to the club as his skill set gives him all the makings of a good winger.
I'm not saying he's as good as Bale, but im pretty sure there was a strange record that Spurs didn't win a game he played in a year or so? I'm pretty sure some of their fans may have been calling for him to be sold as well, give Johnson a chance at right wing for a few games and I honestly don't think we will be disappointed. The times they are a changin'.

I agree with the right wing stuff completely. However I think it would have happened by now if it was going too.
He's probably the clubs best winger.
Also the worst full back.
I'm pulling my hair out watching him make schoolboy errors week in week out. Other players would be crucified for but for some reason his gets glossed over.

I honestly think if we had a fully fit left back week in week out he would have been tried there, of course its each to their own and i clearly rate him higher then you, and indeed Drago do. I just think some of the criticism is unfair, its not just him that makes mistakes, but they always seem to be the ones that are rambled about the mostOriginally posted by Rudo View PostHe's not going to play on the wing for us tho, if he was, it would have happened well before now. Kenny's playing him at left back which says it all.
Fact of the matter is, he's a right back by trade and cannot defend.
Never known a player to be defended(pun not intended) as much as Johnson, if he played for United, Arsenal, Chelsea he'd get absolutely slaughtered week in and week out.

Saying that the Honeymoon period is over for a manager who has been in charge for, what, 7 weeks, and has only lost one game out of 8, after a nil nil away draw in Europe could be construed as an over reaction.Originally posted by Rudo View PostI honestly don't see many posts that are an over reaction - most people just saying it was a bit of crappy performance, nothing more, nothing less.Last edited by Buzzo; 18-02-11, 01:43 AM.Modifying post.

Thank **** we only have 3 days to erase the memory of that **** 'football' we served up.
TBF Sparta were utter ****e as well so it was basically the worst advert ever for the Europa League and football in general.
They should cancel this competition completely. Total joke.

I'm not basing it on the back of that match, i'm just saying that the honeymoon period is over which sounds more controversial than it should be.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostSaying that the Honeymoon period is over for a manager who has been in charge for, what, 7 weeks, and has only lost one game out of 8, after a nil nil away draw in Europe could be construed as an over reaction.

What honeymoon period though? We lost two and drew one of the first three!
We've improved as much as can be expected with the squad at the King's disposal. That performance tonight was straight out of Rafa's last season.
We've got five players to come into that first eleven. And will hopefully address the other four/five areas in the summer

Yep i agree that he should be given a go on the wing, said it many times before. Be an interesting move.Originally posted by Gibbo9 View PostI honestly think if we had a fully fit left back week in week out he would have been tried there, of course its each to their own and i clearly rate him higher then you, and indeed Drago do. Just can't see it happening now when there's been many opportunities to try it in recent months/weeks, and we're still waiting for it.
The criticism is in no way unfair, we're allowed to voice our opinions on players performances and Johnson's have been dreadful to say the least.
I still think the likes of Lucas, Skrtel and Kuyt are the 3 main whipping boys, and Johnson gets away with it.
Excuses are rarely made for Lucas, Skrtel and Kuyt when the team don't win but when it comes to Johnson, the excuses are out before long:
"but he's good forward"
"out style of play doesn't suit him"
and so on.

Honeymoon period as in, Kenny and his coaching staff have had a good 7 weeks to get to grips with things and now that they have, it's time we see more of what they want/expect in terms of performances on match day.Originally posted by Drago View PostWhat honeymoon period though? Yes we have 5 players to come in, but as i say before you'd expect alot more from any Liverpool side than what we saw last night.
