    David Villa???

    Quick question - have I missed something going back over the past year or so that we have been in for David Villa?
    Ive read numerous posts elsewhere about 'if' we could have afforded him or 'when' Rafa bids for him later on, obviously this is followed about what a good signing he would be.
    Ive never seen anything that showed we were sniffing - at best a rumour/throwaway line that said Rafa liked him but thats all.

    Anyone shed any light on this one for me?

    I think we asked about it a couple of years ago, but he was really against leaving Spain, so the conversation ended there.

      rafa tried to sign him befor he went to valencia but they wante 12-15 and we only had about 8-10 i belive it was. he tried again after he had signed for valencia, he was his nr.1 target i believe...

        Did we not have a good look at him before he signed for Valencia? We did. Can’t remember where he was at the time….Malaga? There were some bonkers quotes attributed to him…something along the lines of: “Liverpool dangled the candy in front of me but I did not bite. Anyway, I don’t like The Beatles….” – or words to that effect.

          I think the Villa speculation was more realistic than Torres links, it's just a shame we dont have 20mil to spend on him

            he was at zaragosa, yes rafa tried his best but couldn't get him...

            he signed for 12 mill euros witch is a steal, and makes my earlier post rubbish. but i seem to remember us having a problem with the money zaragosa wanted...

                  If he doesn’t like The Beatles he’s obviously some sort of **** that we’re better off without.

                    he would be great to have as a partner for Crouch/Kuyt.


                    However if we were to splash the cash on another striker i would prefer us to sign Huntelaar. The lad just cant stop scoring, he is unreal.
