Was referring to Cisse mainly, also Le gems, but that would be a bit harsh on Pongolle, who I wouldn't mind seeing back but I don't think it wouldn't be good for his career. But we can expect all three to exit Anfield at the end of the season, and that really will be the end of Houlliers lasting legacy at Anfield. Then we can remember him for the good signings who are left, rather than the ****e he saddled us with.

Darren Potter insists he bears no grudges against Rafael Benitez after bringing his Liverpool career to an end this month.
Potter, who came through the club's youth ranks, signed a permanent deal with Wolves last week after accepting he was never going to make the grade at Anfield.

But instead of complaining about a lack of first team chances, the Republic of Ireland born midfielder admits he just wasn't of the required standard to make the breakthrough under Benitez.

"I would have liked to stay at Liverpool for the next 10 to 15 years but you have to be realistic," he said.

"I was there for six years and my chances were limited, but that's because of the quality of players they have there. Reality kicked in and told me I wasn't going to make it.

"I'll be 23 this year and I need to be playing games. I could have been waiting my whole career at Liverpool to get my chance. It gradually dawned on me.

"I was involved in a few big European nights thinking: 'this is great and going really well'. Then the following week I'd be nowhere to be seen.

"You need to be in that Premiership squad of 16-18 players every week. You only have to look around the dressing room. For me to dislodge players like Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko would have been so difficult. All those local born players who left will say they had a fair crack of the whip. Rafael Benitez gave us all a good go at it.

"I have no regrets. I have had a good football education under Steve Heighway at the youth academy. We have been brought up in the Liverpool way and we know it is the right way."

Cisse Returns To France Squad 01/02/07

Djibril Cisse has been recalled to the France squad for their international friendly against Argentina at the Stade de France on Wednesday.

The striker, on loan at Marseille from Liverpool until the end of the season, is back to full fitness after recovering from a broken leg he sustained last June, shortly before the start of the 2006 World Cup finals.

There is no place in the 22-man squad for former Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez, who came out of retirement in December by signing a short-term deal with Nantes.

Coach Raymond Domenech has named just two custodians, Gregory Coupet - Barthez's long-standing rival for the number one jersey - and Mickael Landreau.

David Trezeguet keeps his place in the squad even though he plays in Italy's second tier with Juventus, while Monaco captain and centre-back Gael Givet is also named.

Arsenal's William Gallas and fellow defender Jean-Alain Boumsong miss out through injury.

Le Tallec has been talking to L'Equipe, saying he regrets asking for the meeting with Rafa that led to him being loaned out to Sunderland. He should have stayed and fought for his place he says...now.
