that's the one that set me off Houllier & Parry!...God I was Livid!...All because of Parry going on the word of David Dein who apparantly told him that his brothers, who were agents at that time, were difficult to deal with...Dein must have pissed himself laughing doing Arsenal a favour by stopping a fierce rival strenghtening an already formidable strike force barring Heskey!

Anelka was playing out of his skin, he mentioned that he found his football home & wanted to stay on...Ok, Fowler mentioned in his autobiography that he was aloof & wouldn't pass the ball...Poor Anelka probably didn't understand Scouse!

Diouf didn't impress me at all as was more impressed with his strike partner who's name I've forgotten as he seems to be a more powerful forward.

Beware of players who have had good world cups as they seem to be flash in the pan stuff!

Anyhow, live & let learn...I do remember Laudrup nearly signing for us & being gutted he signed for Juve as he was sensational at an international vs Rep of Ireland back in the early 80's so after that kept tabs on the guy! No surprise that Barca came in for him...
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

You're having a laugh! It has to be Carlton Cole!

Weren't we close to signing Vidic before he signed for the scum?
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

I thought that everton had an option on Maradona when he was a nipper, but they refused to pay his air fare over from Argentina

as for us, recently, it has to be Anelka, getting him on loan and then not signing him was a sin

Or The Best We Nearly Had.

                  Lee Bowyer need not apply.

as i said the best we never had was Maradona

obviously if you think pele is the best ever pele is the answer.

if your ldp then zidane is somehow better than maradona.

Moderators - can we change this thread title to "The Best Player Liverpool Nearly Signed That Fell Through or Never Quite Came Off"

                        Otherwise its just

                        "List boss players from history"

"The Best Player Liverpool Nearly Signed That Fell Through because of Rick Parry" - it was always his fault even if it was 20 years ago when he didn't even work here. Coco

I remember back in 98 or 99 waking up to see that the Big Breakfast news were reporting we were signing Roberto Baggio on loan.

I think I might well have had a celebratory wank.

Not quite the best player of all time but possibly my favourite non LFC player of all time.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
