they've all played in title winning sides tho, and possibly campbell aside, probably had more first team football for united than spearing has had with liverpool, and they've probably played in the champions league a few times as well - so more experienced, been part of a winning team, and there is the ferguson selling to an 'old mate' factor as well.

to be honest...whats the difference to us nowadays between £1m and £3m - **** all in the grand scheme of things...

thats true but I would still look for us getting £3M or so for him, it's time we actually forced teams to pay nearer the maximum for players.

Disagree with the £1m-£3m part, if they FFP rules do actually happen as they should we need to be bringing in as much cash as we can into the club to re-use to sign other players, I know it's only £2M and in footballing terms thats not massive but that would pretty much cover a player on £40k a years wages.
