Yeah i just thing shevley is more of a say....meireles type centre mid, and spearing is more of a mascherano type (just using those as comparsions before more people start kicking off and say shelvey is nowhere near as good as meireles )

Got to remember that Shelvey, is what 17? 18 maybe i can't remember, and has already had a handful of games and it could be argued that he was ahead of the pecking order even under kenny, who was playing shelvey before spearing until shelvey got injured and then fair play to spearing he got his chance and worked his bollocks off to keep the spot

I do feel we need another centre mid - which would limit the chances of spearing and shelvey - and so for that situation i'd have spearing as the 5th centre mid and would like to shelvey given the chance to go and play 20 odd games on loan

I certainly didn't read that as a pointed criticism, more as a fact to be considered when comparing our midfield options.

I agree Lucas isn't a fanny, but I know where he's coming from. He doesn't get bullied, but he doesn't have that imposing presence either; something I think we're missing from our central defence and midfield, and should try to address this summer.
    - exactly that - it wasn't a criticism as such purely, that i was trying to highlight in brief our current midfield options - though if i wanted to be picky, yeah, Lucas should be scoring more goals, or at least look like scoring themm...he was afterall supposed to be an attacking midfielder back in brazil playing his best football behind the striker?? or did i just make that up - now for someone who did that, i'd like to see a few more goals or at least look like he 'might' score - he's scored one goal in about 100 games - i'm not expecting him to go and bang 20 a season in....but it'd be nice to see him get a couple more a season than Martin Skrtel
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

      ^^

Shelvey's 19, but aye still very young, has time on his side and all that.

Don't get why so many people have him down as being ridiculously slow, last season when he was with Charlton and playing as an attacking midfielder, he didn't look slow at all and even this season for us, he doesn't either.

He does seem to be a bit **** on the ball though, no real control or conviction to his play which is a concern but we'll see how he develops in the coming years.

Kenny seems to like him anyway. Brings him on regularly.

He's been excellent of late, not just holding his own, but actually bossing midfield with Lucas

I have to admit I didn't think he had it but he definitely proved me wrong.

He's actually pretty ****ing good in that compilation. I'm actually worried about the return of Gerrard as we are a winning team right now. I don't want to deny Spearing a deserved place in the team.

Another very good performance. I thought offering him a new contract was pointless but I couldn't have been more wrong. Obviously when Gerrard comes back and a couple of midfield signings in the summer then he won't be near the side, but he's turning into a quality squad player for us.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Brilliant work rate, determination and passing. He is the kind of people we need right now. Definitely keep him around, the combination of Lucas and Spearing is very interesting how well it has worked.

Spot on with your comments about Gerrard but, Jay will deffo need a rest now and again IMO so, maybe Gerrards experience will undoutably prove that he should play when fit and ready.

Now if someone came in with a bid of 20-25 mill for Gerrard in the summer? would we as a Club be irresponsable to turn this down concidering his age, Injury prone etc, or keep him whatever? oh, these comments are only my opinions and are not intended to offend anyone

BTW, can't wait for next season and number 19 to arrive
