I think he may be alluding to the fact that we did not sign a more established DM in Jan perhaps. Not that I would agree with him.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post
It wasn't Kennys fault Lucas got injured?
Perhaps your
indicates you already knew that.

I see. No I was pretty lost on that one. But you have pieced the puzzle together for me. Long day. And I've been posting too much.
Modifying post.

Glad I have been away today. Can't be arsed catching up because it is the same old story this year.

I had been quite pleased with the way Jay had settled in but these past few games have shown him to be not quite EPL standard. Not saying he is to blame for this bad run.
It was a mistake from Kenny not to buy a replacement for Lucas in Jan.
I think Jay is 23 now and he has improved on previous years but its time to get rid in the summer.

He's quite simply not good enough. but unfortunately it appears it is the best we've got. Dont we have an 18 or 19 year old reserves??Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHorrendous play for their first goal. He continues to be a so-called defensive midfield player who offers zero protection. He takes up poor positions, is beaten so easily, seldom makes tackles. this isn't a criticism of spearing, it just felt this is prob the best place to post this (although i am sure it's been said in every other thread
)
Our whole midfield is ****e and our central options are so poor it's untrue...
with lucas injured we have, in order of preference (argubly)
Gerrard
V
V
V
Spearing
henderson
adam
shelvey
it's ****ing dire.....and when you include the 'wide/attacking' options - we have the least imposing, least threatening midfield in the league and imo it's right smack bang in the centre of our problems - if we had a tougher midfield then you'd argue it would take the pressure of the defence and also provide the strikers with some support
where did it all go wrong - gary mac, didi hamann, momo, mascher, xabi - ****ing hell, i was never his biggest fan but danny murphy would mug off most of midfield nowadays.i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Patently not good enough, never has been and never will be.
I do feel a touch sorry for him though, he's been thrown in at the deep end and his failure isn't for the want of trying.
I think this highlights why we do need to go after another DM like M'Vila. One just isn't enough and considering almost all of our other CMs are so negligent in their defensive duties that makes it even more critical.
How good was Tiote yesterday for example!

Unfortunately none of our promising youngsters really play that position (DM) I don't think. Happy to be corrected though!Originally posted by 5europeancups View PostHe's quite simply not good enough. but unfortunately it appears it is the best we've got.
