Messi's younger than Iniesta i think, but Iniesta is certanly not old. Both seem to have been around for ages though, and they just keep churning them out. Cant see anything but Barca domination in spain and europe for a good while.

But my point was that if you take the Barca fixture out of the equation, Pellegrini still out performed him against the rest of the league. Mourinho is a great manager no doubt, but he doesn't necessarily guarantee success.

And believe me, I don't underestimate Barca one bit, I just wonder after consecutive years of success, can the hunger still remain. Even Pep often seems to indicate that he wants out while at the top.

Pellegrini did a superb job points-wise, but it's too early to say that he out-performed Mourinho, as this season is obviously still going and Real Madrid could still amass a total of 100 points if they won 9 games.

I dont think anyone 'guarantees' success. But Mourinho, with the right backing and environment (and not put up against an impossible task, as upstaging Barca is), would be as close to a guarantee as you can get IMO.

All the signs are the owners are willing to spend big in the summer, and i'm sure that'll apply regardless of who the manager is.

100% agreed love him or loathe him he would win us the league IMO and i would pay through the bollocks to get him as gaffer at LFC.
