We have city and spurs both at home........i fancy us to beat both those cunts......

City are on the ropes big time.....Mancini has lost the dressing room.....

Spurs......big big pity they didn't get Schalke or Shaktar in the CL......give them a few tricky games in both the quarter finals and the semis where they lose games before/after champions league matches.... I will be shouting for them big time against Real Madrid......(although i can't see it to be honest). However, tottenham still have to play us, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City.....

    You fookin never know......

    One word...............BELIEVE!!!!

In fairness, they would have probably have said the same about us winning it in 2005.........

They probably have a better squad than the one we had in 2005, but I don't think there any teams as good as Barca when we won it.

I'm not saying you are wrong guys but I saw a Danish football TV programme where they discussed our opportunities to get two teams in the qualify for Champions League and they said we at the moment are on the 12th 13th place so we would be given two Champions League spots but if the scenery from 2005 happened (We won CL but finished 5th) then they would take the champions League spot away from the nation who is on the 12th or 13th place on the UEFA club rating list.
But you know journalists are not always right.

Let's hope that our team will qualify for Europe next year.

hmm - i'd prob agree that they have better squad in terms of quality/strength in depth but what spurs don't have is genuine world class superstars - ie Steven Gerrard - I'm not tying to say it was all down to Gerrard in 2005 - it was a monumental effort by everyone but Gerrard is a world beater - Spurs have some great players....Van Der Vaart, Modric, Bale but we had great players in 2005 - Hyypia, Hamman, Alonso - but Spurs don't have that someone special that someone that makes everyone in europe go "hmmm, with him on the pitch you can never write them off"

Bale for example is good - but he isn't even close to Steven Gerrards ability/class

They also can't defend for toffee.

Bale is decent mainly as he's realised his best option is using his pace.

You're right there though, nobody in a SPurs shirt that makes me think world beater certainly not like Gerrard at his best.

They have the depth though whereas our squad is pretty thin in terms of quality

I think it depends on who wins the Champions League, there is a maximum of 4 CL places per country. Some countries (including England, Spain and Italy) have 4 places if the winner of the CL comes from one of those countries but that team were to fail to qualify through their league position the distribution of those 4 places would be changed so that the CL winners and the top 3 qualify the following year. If however the winners of the CL comes from a country who don't have the maximum 4 CL places allocated then I believe the scenario you outline above applies (i.e. a place will be taken away from another country).
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Let's face it. We were underdogs in 2005 especially at half time in Istanbul lol. But in all fairness we'll have to get a bit credit to Real Madrid too. Real Madrid have had an fantastic season like Barcelona have. Yeah I know they beat them 5-0 but I think both Real and Barca are favourites to take the title. They will most likely meat each other in the semi finals and I'm looking forward to see the two matches. Spurs faces Real Madrid in the quarter finals and I don't think they have a good chance of beating Real over two matches. I watched the game at San Siro from my couch and I most admit I was rather enjoyed and impressed of how well Spurs did away against Milan. But at home I think they made a big mistake of how they played the game and in some situations I think they have to be happy for not seeing the ball hit the net. I think they will play good home but I think they will get their asses kicked away at Santiago Bernabeu.

Good Luck spurs but I think it's a suicide mission. Remember it is not Liverpool who are playing against Real next months, lol.

Oh thank you. It makes perfect sense and know when I think about it I knew that the maximum Champions League places are four.
