Was Kelly's debut the game against Lyon? Cos while that was very good this was a more rounded performance from Flanagan IMO.

I was actually thinking about Jones pre-match. I was gonna suggest that Kelly could cope well due to his strength but Flanagan might struggle with the physicality unless he’s another Rob Jones.

I'm not saying that at all. We've a long way to go yet. I'm just celebrating tonight, which has been one of finest performances of the season.

When I say we've reached the end of the storm, I mean we've arrived out of the other end of an absolute ****-storm. We are battered and bruised but unbowed. We are in need of repairs and replenishment, but we sail on, now with hope in our hearts, optimistic for the future and leaving the past behind.

I hope we're not getting too carried away with Flanagan, as accomplished as he was tonight.

However, it's great to know we have a promising youngster to call upon as 3rd choice RB. We're looking pretty strong in that position for the next couple of seasons IMO.

More than anything i was impressed with his temperament, he never looked flustered in possession and seemed to know exactly what was expected of him defensively and positionally. Definitely a lot of potential there.

Kenny wanted Young we bid 3 different bids (final one was £18 million) all rejected because - the player was not for sale

We all know Hodgson should've been sacked sooner, but that's easy for us to say. By the looks of it, it was a £7m decision. To me you can't blame them for taking their time. And yes, you could say we would make that back by getting into the CL, but they no way could've known we'd have done this well

We went for Kenny's No.1 wide player target in January and the selling the club refused to sell him

We also went for a couple of other "Kenny authorised" signings and again couldnt land them

It was nothing to do with the timing of the appointment it was solely down to the selling clubs refusing to sell / dicking around

But its ok Arn you can keep telling yourself you are right whilst the reality is totaly different

If KK had been appointed in mid December for example then he would most probably been able to get in the wide men he wanted in January and made the squad even stronger. He didn't had the time to do that.

We that wanted FSG to sack Roy back in November also pointed out how important the January transfer window would be for our chances to finish in the top four. Now FSG made a meal of it. Sacking the manager after a week or so in a 31 day transfer window isn't exactly what you expect from owners like FSG. What you expect is that they appoint a new manager at least a month before the transfer window so he can make up his own plans and get a fair chance to get in the players he want.
