But in fairness, if they had got Kenny in sooner and he had got us 4th, I can't see why they would have needed to change. Kenny said from the word go, if I don't do well and Liverpool can find someone better, I'll be happy to stand aside.

Personally, I'm in two minds myself. He's done a great job on some fronts, but we still have problems away from home but I guess you can only work with what he's got. I think Kenny likes to play with wide men, he always has, so must be frustrating to be at the club when we have little to no width.

The biggest thing for me though is his age, I'd love a top coach to come in and build a dynasty. But if Kenny stays I'll also be happy, so it's win win.

If KK had been appointed in mid December for example then he would most probably been able to get in the wide men he wanted in January and made the squad even stronger. He didn't had the time to do that.

We that wanted FSG to sack Roy back in November also pointed out how important the January transfer window would be for our chances to finish in the top four. Now FSG made a meal of it. Sacking the manager after a week or so in a 31 day transfer window isn't exactly what you expect from owners like FSG. What you expect is that they appoint a new manager at least a month before the transfer window so he can make up his own plans and get a fair chance to get in the players he want.

As i said before mate, it's not hindsight, it's down to a judgement and several of us judged that Kenny would come in and do a much much much better job. I can understand why they did it the way they did it - but that doesnt stop it being a costly mistake. Which is frustrating, but it's water under the hodge now.

I think that great performance against Chelsea in their first match cost us long term. It would have been harsh to ditch him right away after that and it gave false hope that he could turn things round.

It also helped gift United the title.

I wanted Bodgson gone before FSG even came in! The away game at citeh rings a bell as the time the hodgson tide began turning, 2nd game of the season, but I had NEVER seen us beaten like that.

As i trudged out of Eastlands chuntering about how this would never have happened last year, i turned to Shaggy and said 'Hodgson has to go'. It was that obvious how out of his depth he was......we were abysmal that night and i paid approximately 50 quid for the privelege

Was it 13 games? It doesn't seem that many now.

I can't argue with the figures you've presented me with here, but hindsight is a great gift. There was no guarantee that Kenny was going to have such an impact, in fact many here were fearful of him taking charge as they thought he was out of the game too long.

As I said to DannyMan - I agree that Hodgson should have been sacked sooner, but I can understand, to an extent, why they delayed the decision

I don't think Mascherano helped with that game tbh.

None of us would have appointed Roy as manager, that's a given, but to sack him after about two league games would have been ridiculous.

I think the time for him to be sacked was when Everton destroyed us at Goodison. Total lack of fight from the players and from then on Roy was a dead man walking IMO.
