What the Mancs do is out of our hands, they're going to win Number 19 this season, fair enough.

I always want us to win, we'll just have to go back past them by 10 -15 trophies in the next 20 odd years again

All season I have been desperate fo United to cock up and someone to race away with it but it hasnt happened. In the past I have felt that I would have been content with us losing if it helps someone catch Utd but when we got that penalty yesterday I was cheering and desperate for Dirk to score it.

      As Dalglish said in the post match interview;

We look after ourselves first and foremost and if anyone else benefits then so be it

i wanted us to win - i was slightly gutted when Arsenal got a penalty - only slightly though...nothing to do with the mancs and the title but just felt for us in what was a 'nothing' game - it was a tough game away to a team fighting for the title - we didn't have gerrard, agger, johnson and kelly (4 vital players) we lost aurelio early on, and then carra - we had basically a 2nd string side and youth players and for me we'd done everything we could and there was no shame in losing to a penalty in the 98th minute

when we got our penalty and then scored it - i was estastic - a well earned hard fought draw and excellent result for the likes of Spearing, Robinson, Shelvey and Flannagen to have on their CV's.

As i mentioned in the general football thread about radical views....I'm resigned to the mancs taking our record, and have been for about 10 years now! - so the sooner it happens the better and then maybe it wakes us up and we go and do something about it and start winning some titles ourselves
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

A draw was pretty **** result all round, didn't do anything for either team.

Except our confidence The Emirates hasn't been a happy hunting ground for us so it was a good result from that perspective if nothing else

I think that will prove to be the case.

Good for the confidence, but with our season all but over it matters little than for pride.

I personally don't care any more.

We have to look after our own business first and formost and do the best we can on the pitch where it matters.

Potentially being 5th is far more important that being indifferent about losing a game against Gunners in hopes Mancs will not get the # 19.

I was meh when we conceded the penalty, an Arsenal win was better than a 0-0. Then I saw us bombard their penalty area and my support was invigorated. When we won the penalty it was a punch the air moment.

Why didn't we just play like that all of the second half? Really happy to get our own back for the 4-4 when we should have murdered Arsenal and won the league but for the jammy overrated cnut Arshavin.

In fairness, Arsenal invited us on to them and we went for broke. We couldn't play like that for the majority of the match.

I think we played it right tbh. We contained Arsenal and tried to hit them on the counter. Nearly worked too, had Suarez and Carroll had better games.

Wasnt a dilemma at all yesterday, Arsenal didnt have a hope in hell of winning the league before kick off. I wanted us to lose v Chelsea as that won them the league given they had Wigan at home last. This was completely different.

Infact, I wouldnt back Arsenal to win the league if they were 4 clear with 1 game left, they'd still find a way to choke it.

I've just decided to be positive. Arsenal will win the league.

Man Utd will draw with Newcastle and Arsenal will beat Spurs on Wednesday. Game on.

If anything, it shows Pepe that he would be mad to even consider quitting Liverpool for Arsenal.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Records are made to be broken. Unfortunately we can't break them all and will have to let this one go temporarily. We're still the most successful club in the country.

Utd will collapse when Fergy goes - and that will be nice. LFC, on the other hand, are sitting pretty as regards the future.
