Talk of a 22 player turnover this summer in Sundays Telegraph.

When you consider how many are on loan and will not be coming back, it's not as radical as it sounds, especially if some of those coming and going are youth players.

also if you think that some going will make room for further players to come in after the summer.

Well I look at the squad and whilst many are better than what we saw at the start of the season, there are still too many tbh, who really aren't capable of pushing Liverpool forwards.

TBH that would be VERY doable IMO...
An experienced keeper on a free and say 1 Sakho, 1 Enrique, 1 M'Vila, 1 Sanchez (or Young if we go for the cheap option - or Aguero if we want a more narrow approach)

IMO that team would be as good as any in the EPL!

Powerful squad with loads of possibilities in it! How much do ya reckon we would get for the deadwood and what would it cost to assemble the team above? A NETT of £50m?

Joe Cole simply has to go as well. You can't have a squad player on 90k a week and he's clearly not a first teamer anymore. I feel a bit lik a broken record saying this, but people keep insisting we keep him.

should be gone, can't afford expensive passangers which he is and can't see it changing going forwards.

I still think we could get £5M for him from someone like West Ham providing of course they stay up.

The problem I see is no-one being willing to pay his wages, lets face it his only chance of a move to a big club is if Newcastle come in for him

Personally we need top notch CB and as of next season imo Carra should be on the bench.

Also I would always play Aqua Man instead of Raul if Aquilani comes back. Much better and more complete player.

To be honest, I didn’t even consider Carroll when picking my team. I suppose a case could be made for him replacing Meireles, but at the minute I don’t think we have the players to compliment Carroll so are a better team without him.

I kind of agree with you there in regards Carroll, I think we'll hopefullly start to see the best of him next season once we've recruited players that compliment his assets best also I don't really see the need in changing a team that won 5-0 the last time out.

I love how we are saying chelsea spent 50 mil on torres and its stupid that chelsea fans think they need to spend more to make him good. then we do exactly the same thing with carroll

We are not relying on Carroll to make us tick though, we can still function well and he can still contribute in the current set-up. We are still generally looking at the same players we needed before Carroll signed (LB, winger, creative midfielder) and once we get them then we should see more from the team as a whole and Carroll personally.

Chelsea also have good enough players to compliment Torres at the minute, but they are used to their CF playing in a certain way that Torres isn’t capable of. I’m pretty sure Chelsea could easily find a system that suits Torres and the rest of their squad, but because of the age of a lot of their players they need to reinvest.

Basically I disagree with both points, neither team needs to spend heavily to make their new players ‘good’, but both teams will spend and Torres and Carroll should benefit more than most from the new additions.
