At Last I'm Going to Anfield

After supporting LFC for over 30 years, I'm embarrassed but absolutely gobsmackingley happy that I am finally going to pay a visit to Anfield for a game. I've been to Liverpool before but refused to visit the great arena if I couldn't see the team play a competitive game.

My colleagues/staff at work have bought me a hospitality package for my 40th last week for the Newcastle game with breakfast before the game and food after the game.

What I was wondering is, of those of you who have already been on one of these, what are they like?

And the other question, does anybody know a good place to stay on the Saturday night that will still be available at this short notice? Also, recommendations for where to go, meal/drinks Saturday night if I do manage to get somewhere to stay?

Sounds class mate - have fun

I've never been corporate, but usually it's in one of the function suites with seats in the centenary - food will be good

places to stay? - again i've never stayed in liverpool being local, but look for anywhere near or close to the albert dock/liverpool one area - load of hotels and the best places for food and drink - be roughly 10 maybe 15 mins to ground depending on traffic
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

enjoy it Simon - i remember my 1st trip it was 20 years ago, and it was magical. ( i'm of a similiar age to you)

I've just made my last trip for the City game last week, i'd say that was about 40 or so times i've been over ( i'm Irish) - and it was as equally magical.

I'm sure there are many Scousers on here who can give you the insight into Liverpool better than i can........

      Have a blast - Enjoy it !!

        Enjoy the game

I've never been in the corporate section so I have no idea what that will be like.

As for accomodation I've never had to sort it out, I would just look on hotel price comparison websites (for hotels in the city centre) and see what you can find, but I've no idea how much you could expect to pay...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Stayed in the Travel Lodge in the city centre as it was only a stone's throw from the square where all the activity seem to be at night time. Also good proximity for restaurants & pubs.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

              Cheers all

I can't wait and I'm like a small child all over again. Every time I think about it, a childish smirk develops on my face

So many hotels in the city centre, and most of them are pretty decent. Depends what your price range is really.

My old man stays in the Hilton in Liverpool One when he comes down. Its a good, central location with everything on your doorstep.

No price range really as I think it's going to come down to beggars can't be choosers as most places I've looked at are full already, which is too surprising really
