oh i read it that it was the brum game you were going to! I was thinking that is one lucky *******. out of the 10 different people i've taken up to their first games, only around 2 saw a victory.Originally posted by SimonNo7 View PostThat's what I was thinking. There's usually goals in games between us and the barcodes but it will probably be a dull 0-0 and you will all have me to blame

Has anybody got any advice for me re the following?
I'm actually due at The Isla Gladstone Conservatory for breakfast and have been trying to contact the club to organise a parking permit on the Hospitality telephone number provided but it just rings and rings and then goes to an answerphone.
I have left a message stating what I'm after and asking for a call but to no avail.
I have now emailed them and the reply states that it could be up to 4 days before they reply!
Anybody got any ideas as to a number I could actually get through on that could help me with organising a permit?
Cheers in advance.

Hope you have an ace time Simon.
Minor coincidence in that last time I went to a home game it was also for my fortieth and it was also against the barcodes (the game that Xabi scored from halfway).
Rafa burned me off at the lights the following day (just after where the road comes in from the direction of west derby) and whilst on the subject of traffic I'd like to report that I had a minor issue with Anne Widecombe this morning outside Sainbury's car wash.

I'm not sure it could of been better thanksOriginally posted by Molby View PostHow was your day? Obviously the result was to your pleasing!
How did the corporate thingy go?
Beautiful weather, great result, nice easy day at the office for the lads,
The corporate side of things was good actually, not a box or anything like that. Arrived at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory at 9am for breakfast, very nice, followed by a few words from Jimmy Case and Howard Gayle before walking down to the stadium, what a majestic site that was on approach. Took our seats in Anfield Road Upper, row 10, seat 150 and 151 looking down on the pitch and straight into the Kop.
All in all a fantastic day and the most memorable bit, well it has to be when You'll Never Walk Alone started up before the game. Hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention, goose bumps ran up my arms and a tear came to my eye. Amazing, truly amazing.
Can't wait for next season, think I may just have to do it all again

The first time you look out on the pitch is something else isn't it? That and looking out over to the Kop...
You're going to need a big European night to get near to the first time you go - the atmosphere for those nights are a different level.
Make your next game the semi finals of the champion's League

Been to a fair few league games but the best time I had there was the Juve game in 05.
The atmosphere was a different level altogether

Looking out over to the Kop, watching it fill up is also something that will remain with me and next season when we are in Europe I will certainly look to go to one of our famous European nights.

I picked a good year to get over to more matches than usual and that definitely was the highlight. First 'proper' Kop ticket too.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I was in the Kop too, never been so nervous in all my life. Obviously, the leadup to Istanbul overtook it, but the nerves that night were gone by half time, when we looked dead and buried
I distinctly remember seeing the 4th official holding up the board to indicate a minimum of 6 minutes added time, and ****ting myself. I then managed to surpass this, by ****ting myself even more when Dudek came for that punch, missed it and the ball sat up for Gudjohnsen, with an unguarded net at his mercy and the knowledge that, should he find it, that would be the away goal to destroy all our dreams and send us packing in the dying seconds of a tie in which we'd never really looked under threat.
Time stood still. Kopite upon Kopite kidded themselves that they couldnt look, and hid behind their hands which they mischeviously could still see through. You could almost hear your own heart beating in the chaos, beating faster than what could ever be considered normal. Worse still, Dudek had not only fluffed his punch, but his landing had taken out one of his defenders. A forlorn looking Jamie Carragher stood on the line, knowing that any precision in Gudjohnsen's shot would render his clearance attempts helpless. And then Gudjohnsen finally executed his shot....
And it went marginally wide of the post, and away to safety. And off to Istanbul, we danced!
