I hope the message given to The King, Suarez and the players by Ayre and the owners is 'do the talking on the pitch and make all the ****ing media ****s eat their vile come May'.

The best way to make all this go away is with performance after performance after performance on the pitch and silence off it. We've apologized, rightly or wrongly, so we don't need to and shouldn't say anything else on the matter now.

Exactly - it should be "NO COMMENT" on this issue from now on by everyone and anyone associated with the club. That strict approach right from the very start, coupled with some decent legal representation and advice to Suarez would have seen the whole issue go away.

I agree. The media (who are the paragons of virtue) want this nasty incident to go away because it is ruining the good name of football, yet can't help bring it up at every opportunity.

So yeah, refuse to discuss the matter. We've had our final say on it with the apologies, we're moving on. If the media can't then that's their problem.

I am sure Luis can see the fight the club have put up for his defence and I am sure he appreciates it.

I could be miles wide of the mark, but I think he does see and appreciate.
I'm not so sure we would have, we have handled a few things relating to this incident very badly IMO. Hopefully we have sat down and discussed it with him but I wouldn't be so certain judging by the way things have gone.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think Kenny has bent over backwards to support Suarez and show the player the club are behind him - to our detriment. (We must be REALLY scared of him leaving us) The original racism incident can be put down to cultural difference - but the handshake was just petulant and childish. Just as childish as Evra's jumping up and down at the end - but the whole thing was just so avoidable. He should have shook his hand and got on with the game. (what's wrong with the smile-and-handshake-but-try-and-break-each-other's -fingers-shake anyway?)
Defending him on that makes us look like a bunch of idiots. We need to stop playing the victim and lose the whole world is against us mentality. I'm glad he apologised. So shall we get on with some football now?

Re PSG reported interest in Suarez, I'm not suggesting LFC want to sell, just informing when teams keen on him. Big bids expected
                        Ben Lyttleton @benlyt
@LaureJames LFC don't want to sell their best asset (unless he gets in more trouble this yr). €50m bid from PSG may test resolve tho

£41.5m - just under double what we paid for him (If we got him for £22.8m).

I don't think we'd be able to replace him, especially if we don't secure Champions League football

I would sell him for for that amount.

I would be very very reluctant purely on teh basis that we would spunk that money on Darren Bent and another ****ty English player.
