I know he is already here, but by your argument we wouldn't be able to hold on to him because we don't pay top wages and then it's self defeating building a team round him in the long run. If we can't pay top wages we won't keep top players here neither. It is already here. Why do you think we bought ****ing Carroll and not Kun?!. Because we are unwilling to pay top wage for the top footballer and I don't expect anything to change and neither should you.
Why would we be selling him ? Because of his goal scoring rate? Is that it? Who is he playing with? Carroll? Downing etc? Do they help him get the best out of him or he is the one that has to create for himself?
If you gonna sell someone go ahead and sell Carroll, Downing, Adam and all other **** we have and still have plenty and not one of one of the genuine world class players we have. That makes no sense tbh.
It's not a question of sellling him no matter what, but if we could get double what we paid for him 1 year ago, I think it would make much sense and we could get a better team out of it. It's a bit like when we sold Torres for 50m, we got a better team out of it although we sold one of our best players and made good business on it. (yes I am aware there are other differences). Plenty of teams have sold their best players and gotten on just fine.
And it's not an either/or, we have other players like Downing and Adam that are not good enough to be starters, but realistically we won't get enough money of selling them to replace them with better like we perhaps could with Suarez (although I doubt there is anything to the story).Comment

I wouldn't choose to sell him. However, how many of us would blame him if he decided he'd like to be shot of the UK and make a fresh start in another league? I know we've shown him a lot of support etc, but still its perfectly possible he'll get people calling him "racist" when he's out with his wife and kid etc, he might just decide that he'd love to stay but its just not sensible for him and his family.
IF that happened then I'd be very happy with £40m for him and would wish him all the best elsewhere. Honestly though I don't think we'd get offers much above the £30m level.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

I never said that we wouldn't be able to keep on him in the long run as we don't pay top wages (even though that is probably true) but what I said was that if you sell him it would be naive to expect that we will sign Neymar, Cavani etc and other top echelon players as we are not prepared to pay the wages that Real, Barca, Cityh, Chelsea etc would be willing to pay for them.I know he is already here, but by your argument we wouldn't be able to hold on to him because we don't pay top wages and then it's self defeating building a team round him in the long run. It's a bit like when we sold Torres for M, we got a better team out of it although we sold one of our best players and made good business on it. (yes I am aware there are other differences). I also said that approach by us is already our reality and I don't expect much more to change going forward tbh.
Based on that I think it would be extremely important to keep on Luis as you have a world class player in our squad and I think he can do so much more for us if he is given little more support.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan clubComment

Cannot believe some on here are advocating selling him. WHAT THE ****!??!?!
Let' sell him and buy Bent as he's just what we need, english and a goalscorer. As a brucie bonus he's black so in the eyes of the media would diminish our racism as a club.....which media twonk was it who remarked on the lack of black players at LFC? Thereby insinuating we were inherently racist?
If we're lucky we'll have 20 million left over and we could invest that in a hardworking RM in the Downing mold to provide good crosses for Carroll and Bent.
Unbelievable. Mr Ferguson must be constantly patting himself on the back over this one.'Religion is killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend'Comment

No problem at all..................and I'd be making great pains to point to the real reason he was leaving."I will make the boys feel your support"

We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so itComment

Not entirely sure how you have extrapolated that conclusion from what's actually been written. But nevermind
