Has to be decided urgently really so Uruguay have time to properly prepare for the Colombia game.

I hope it is urgent action. Sooner its dealt with sooner it all blows over. Not like the FA and their month long inquiries.

I'll go with 6 games, plus some nonsense about mandatory counselling.

8 game international ban sounds right.

He'll be punished, Uruguay will appeal, it will be denied, Uruguay get knocked out by Colombia, everyone blames Suarez, then the world remembers there is some football to watch and it largely goes away throughout the world apart from in this country where it is mentioned every single time.

The BBC are now using his handball on the line as evidence of his controversial past! (while employing Phil Neville who denied Kuyt his first Liverpool goal handballing on the line in the Merseyside derby)

Subway should replace Sturridge with Suarez, they'd sell a hell of a lot more food.

If they appeal, will he be eligble to play against Columbia??

I'm standing by my 3-4 games, based on violent conduct. It's much simpler for FIFA and everyone if you just go by the rules available. Don't go handing out judgements based on morals.

I'm not sure there is anyone at FIFA qualified to talk about morality anyway.

                            This is from Balague

Luis Suárez is facing punishment from FIFA, for his bite on Italy’s Chiellini in yesterday’s match that saw Uruguay qualify at the expense of the Italians. While there has been wild speculation since the incident that the player could be facing a lengthy ban (up to two years from all types of football according to some commentators), it appears more likely that the player will probably receive a four match ban, all to be served with the national side, though there is a chance it could be for more games.

Sources consulted by this newspaper said the bite on Chiellini was an aggressive act, but stressed that any punishment had to reflect reality. “What’s the difference between what Suárez did and a head butt, a deliberate elbow or spitting?”, our sources said, confirming that “the minimum ban would therefore be four matches”.

In any event in principle any ban would only be served with the national side and not at his club, currently Liverpool. While FIFA do have the power to ban a player from playing domestic football, that tends to only be applied in cases of racism, doping or match fixing.

True, but neither is anyone at the FA.
