I think he could have easily said....'I've had a word with Luis....and he didn't actually mean what's been reported over here, he meant he got himself into a position to try and win a cheap penalty and went down easy, which all strikers do.I'm pretty sure that no major action will be taken against Suarez internally. He's been asked a question by the press. Bearing in mind he's been defending Suarez constantly and saying he gets picked on, now the man himself has admitted to diving to win a game, Rodgers has to say something to get the press off their back. No comment in this case just isn't going to cut it
Now **** off and write your headlines.

That may have worked...but probably notComment

I don't think everything is rosy at the club but I don't think we're trying to sell Suarez or force him out by condemning what he said in that interview either.
He's playing some unbelievable football, the best he has played for us since he's been here. He's said himself he's enjoying it and likes the manager and his outlook. Over this one thing you conclude Rodgers may want to cash in on him
Players make mistakes and sometimes you can't blindly back them. That's all this is. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to get all doom and gloom about it, knock yourself outComment

Suarez simply finds it impossible to keep out of the press. We are a disaster. He is an incredible footballer and the press are going to hound him in general, but he has just given them an arsenal of ammunition with these latest comments.Last edited by danperkins; 17-01-13, 04:16 PM.Comment
