The question isn't would we survive if we sold Suarez it's would we re-invest the money wisely.
Recent history would say no but this summer is the first main transfer window with all the scouts in place etc... so that may change, certainly Coutinho suggests value for money.

IF we took £50m for Suarez and bought 2 x CB's, 1 x DM, 1 x LB and left us pocket change to bring in a talented youngster or 2 would we be stronger and a better side for it?

Players move clubs. We're not an apex club at the moment, if he goes, he goes. Someone else will come along, they generally do.
