It's meaning in Uruguay is entirely context-dependent - it can be friendly or very insulting. Perhaps Suarez meant it in a friendly way and it was misinterpreted. Just as they misinterpreted him when he said that he pinched Evra's arm to help calm him down. No, they can't have, because he admitted under questioning that he didn't pinch his arm to calm him down.

I suppose everyone will have their own view of that report. I've more sympathy with the view that he was wronged and we should keep him than that he did it and we should keep him because he's good.
Part of the problem seems to me to be that we (and if fact no one but Suarez) has the information to make that judgement. The FA report seemed thorough in its investigation but to overstep what could be known when making its judgement (which seemed to be politically predetermined). There is obviously a tendency for LFC supports to have the opposite bias.

Given that I think the judgement of sell/not sell comes from estimates of his likely future behaviour and effectiveness as a player. My feeling is that he's very unlikely to make race related comments in future but that he may well act like a **** again (biting or something else frustration related) but that is countered by his excellence as a player.

Yes they had independent experts give evidence then they ignored all of it and ruled that context was irrelevant.

That's why they found themselves is such a bind when John Terry did his deed. If I could be arsed I'd find it in the report but it's old ground and I can't be arsed.

My reply earlier was in response to Redreets question on how we felt about it, I've no interest in arguing all this again.

Either way we'd be mad to sell him, flawed genius, but genius none the less.

Well at least I’ve established that no more evidence was unearthed that I missed, it appears it’s peoples opinion of Suarez that has changed more than anything.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

True. Tricky one isn't it? I will admit to a certain anger towards him for making Kenny's last season such a **** one, I didn't think he deserved that. I still think he'll be off though...

Yeah. He was a large part in me feeling pretty disillusioned by the game last season. His greater productivity has made me forgive him some, but unlike some on here I don't think I'll ever really love him.

I think there is a greater than 50:50 chance he will leave this summer but I wouldn't say it is a forgone conclusion. If he goes we will struggle to continue our progress IMO. What I really want to see is a season of real excitement/competitiveness from us next year and for me that is only a likelihood if we keep Suarez.

Excellent point that. There would be a massive downer on the club and fans if he was allowed to leave.

If he stays we have a real chance to push on and challenge next season and give us all something positive to talk about other than the circus that has followed us around for a few years.

Unfortunately the halfwits at the FA chose to ignore context.
Yeah, that's pretty much the narrative that I don't believe. But it matters not really.

I applaud Suarez biting and diving. Exactly the kind of cheat I want in my team but he ain't no racist. John Terry is.

Tony Evans says Suarez was "nowhere near" being his player of the year because Liverpool finished 7th. Player award, not team award!!!

And yet Spurs may yet finish 5th which isn't that much better. How strange
