i hate the wording "diver" when referring to suarez. he is a player with a theatrical fall is more suited to describe him. suarez 9 times out of 10 gets the slightest of contact and there fore is not a diver (when no contact is made a la bale, valencia, young)

And that's why they officially call it "simulation" so as to cover both.

But yes, he's generally not a diver - he's just a fanny who goes down like he's been shot in the chest with a 12 gauge at the slightest gust of wind. I really, really wish he wouldn't.

If he could just be fouled without the head/arm theatrics then there'd be so little debate about all of this. He's so quick, he makes mazey and twisty runs in the most dangerous areas and basically begs to be fouled so could easily be winning us 10-15 penalties a season.

We'd miss the penalties but that's another issue.

Indeed. Rodgers talks to the press about how Suarez can't get a decision, some of the media pick up on it sympathetically. Suarez pulls off his worst dive so far. He may as well just show his arse to the manager. Arguably did similar to kenny over the handshake.

They can't, if they do they're breaking their own rules. Simulation is a yellow card offence, and they can't retrospectively issue yellows. Nor can they remotely make that into a straight red (3 match ban) like Fergie's mate Tony wants.... they could just as easily award us a retrospective penalty for the assault on Luis in the Norwich game.

Ridiculous though that dive was, and however much it undermines what we've been saying in the last few weeks about him not getting decisions, I don't see that anything more can come of this other than more of the usual media bull****. On the other hand, RVP's elbow and Huth's stamp, both of them should be getting retrospective reds. Not that they will.

Oh, and fwiw, Carroll's dive against Newcastle last year was worse. Much worse. Neither of them can hold a torch to Kromkamp though.

Didn't the FA threaten to award a yellow after the game to an arsenal player 1 or 2 years back to try and stamp this out? Arsenal said they would sue the FA if they did and they let it go? I think the player was vermaelen.
