Suarez shouldn't have said what he did.

Rodgers shouldn't have said what he did.

If Suarez doesn't say it in the first place then the question is not even asked but when it was asked Rodgers should not have been so open and batted it away. The press will blow it up much bigger than it needs to be in any case.

So Norwich then. We can just hope for the usual "Luis Suarez, you know what you are" chants 90 seconds before each goal he scores.

I remember each time they sung it in our last game (3 times) he scored a hattrick.

        Very true.

It's a balance innit. ****ed if you come out with cliches, ****ed if you're honest. I agree that they both should've said nothing at all.

Increasingly I think the debate over diving is just insane in this country. Is it really 'a cancer' in the game, worse that two footed lunges or cynical pulls that stop breaks or prevent someone getting to a cross? It is a problem but one amongst many and one that has been with us for ever.

I tend to feel that Rodgers had to react to the media. Otherwise I think there was a danger of referees changing their decisions with all our players not just Suarez.

Being honest is not helping Suarez at all... He should have learned it from the Evra issue where he honestly admiited that he used the word but not in a racist way. But it looks like He will always be his own and he wont give a damn abt what the press say about him.. The Attitude is right on a personal level but its not helping his cause..
The best thing for him now would be to do all his talking on the pitch and not on the press..

BRENDAN RODGERS insists he had no option but to discipline Luis Suarez over the Liverpool FC striker’s admission of diving.

The Reds boss branded the comments made by Suarez in a TV interview broadcast in Argentina this week as “unacceptable”.

Suarez confessed he had “invented a foul” to try to win a penalty during October’s goalless draw with Stoke City at Anfield. He was unsuccessful in his attempts but avoided punishment at the time from referee Lee Mason.

Rodgers refused to confirm whether the 19-goal top scorer will be fined by Liverpool but says Suarez has been left in no doubt about the club’s feelings on the matter.

“The bottom line from my perspective as the manager and leader of the club is that it was wrong to say what he said,” Rodgers said.

“It is unacceptable and will be dealt with internally. It (diving) is not something we advocate here.

“There is no-one bigger than the club and the club’s image. Our ethics are correct. I have spoken with Luis and he knows how I feel.

“He totally understands where I am coming from. This is a big club, bigger than anyone, and whatever people say goes around the world. He accepts that.

“This club has always kept its matters in house, and that’s what we will do. That's why I'm telling the world about this. I’m not sure it makes a big difference if we are saying he is fined one week’s, two weeks’ or four weeks’ wages. That’s something we will keep internally.”
              Thanks very much for being

Look at the training pictures from yesterday - Rodgers was trolling people.

I bet he just told him "keep your gob shut, yeah?" and then carried on as normal.

I think his training is just walking up to the players in turn saying "<insert first name here> right?, <insert second name here> right?, <insert first name here> <insert second name here> right?" and then walks over to the next squad member.

Rodgers could have done a better job of kicking the can down the road and dealing with this internally until things died down, but really I think Suarez needs to take a larger share of the blame on this.

Rodgers has defended him well up to now. Suarez shouldn't have compromised that. Now all notions of unfair treatment will be all the more easily dismissed - people found it difficult to see that Suarez dives AND gets unfair treatment as it was before this.
