It isn't based on goals or assists as several players have more than him, it can't be on the "importance" of the goals scored because you'd struggle to say that Suarez's goals for us or Van Persie's for United have been less important so it really is just a huge popularity contest.

It'd be nice for him to win such a thing though.

Suarez is the least popular player in the league though, probably one of the most unpopular in the world - people don't want to play against him but all his past transgressions seem to keep mounting up - the ear bite, the World Cup handball, the Evra allegation, the Oldham handball, diving, etc...

I've always said something similar - I could understand partly why they hate him so much because we've already probably done the same for players at the Mancs or elsewhere.

However the fact that some try to question his talent - that's just ridiculous.
