We need to be sure of the context. It's all interpretations at the moment, taken from snippets off Twitter about whoever gets a piece and wants to get the attention by posting it as quick as they could.

He may well have said all of that but it may all have been heavily lost in translation once again.

Assuming this isn't "lost in translation"again how can he come out and say he's leaving without the clubs knowledge. Surely he could say I want to leave. Up to him now to put in a transfer request isn't it

Usually how its done though, official request is last resort by a desperate player, or one who just wants his move done and dusted and is willing to forgoe some dues.
Transfer request by media and agents is probably more accurate.
If Luis is off, he (via agent) has been arranging a personal deal for a good while - its just how things are done. Everyone operates the same way, and those who cry foul are usually just on their last batch of sour grapes.
Players are advised not to put in requests based purely on advise from agents who will 'sort it out, no bother. It'll just take a bit of time'.

He would be a loss to them in terms of sensationalist drivel with which to fill their rags. But no, I don't think that it is a threat directed at the media, and even if it was I don't think it would stand a hope in hell of working.

Yeah I agree but it was just a suggestion. If he does end up staying, I think there might be something in it. Not a direct threat, but sub-conciously sending out a signal that he feels under-appreciated in this country.

If he has submitted a transfer request, which I doubt very much, I would respect that. That's the way it should work rather than players pimping themselves around until they get a firm offer whilst pretending they're not leaving. Unless he has got an offer from Madrid having pimped himself to them of course .
