Just looking to see who Arsenal could possibly draw in the Play Off Round.
Can't see them failing to go to group stages sadly
PSV Eindhoven
Metalist Kharkiv
Fenerbahçe
Real Sociedad
Paços de Ferreira
They will be top seeds if they qualify so best we could hope for, assuming top seeds qualift for group stages) is
Atheltico/Juve/Milan (pot 2)
Dortmund (pot 3)
Not much quality in pot 4 though
Edit: Although Napoli are in pot 4 so with the signings they have made who knows. Higuain to score last minute goal to condem Arsenal to the Europa League
Football without Origi is nothing

On the Henry saying Torres would never be sold thing - I can see loads of dumb gooners re-tweeing this but has anyone got a link? All I can find are generic statements about "we're not in the business of selling our best players, and won't weaken the team going forward" and stuff like that. Can't find anything anywhere near as specific relating to Torres as his categorical statement tonight regarding Suarez.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostSomeone is hurt tonight, hope JWH rips him a new one...

Unless the money was a loan and the player paid it back, then it would almost certainly be taxable.
Is that short enough?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

James, you could just have said:
You could put it as your signature, it would save you a lot of time.Neil, you're fundamentally right.
HTH.

Though if it was a loan and the player paid it back there could still be a tax liability if the interest rate was considered preferential.Originally posted by James P View Post

If the club making the loan was not in the UK then I suppose it would depend on the tax base in the country he moved to.Never knowingly optimistic

Someone respond mentioning Leveson and Morgan's "utterly unpersuasive" testimony. #windbag indeedOriginally posted by kingfunk View PostSomeone is hurt tonight, hope JWH rips him a new one...

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
