Straight swap for Sanchez (who is valued at 25m)? You're having a ****ing laugh. As if missing 9 games of the season (less in spain) is worth 70 odd million quid!
If you think its only about ability, then you're wrong. The fella's a toxic brand. I think you're probably underestimating the value of Sanchez as well, who's having a pretty ****ing great world cup.

Most people don't like Suarez (including some of our own fans) and this has given them a great opportunity to push reason to one side and put the boot in.

It's hardly crime of the century ffs! He didn't murder anyone. He hasn't been caught taking performance enhances drugs. He hasn't been match fixing. Everyone needs to get a grip.

        Yep. Agreed

He should have received whatever the standard punishment is for violent conduct and not a game more and the punishment should only have applied to whichever team he was playing for at the time. I really hope our legal people have a field day with FIFA, they've made this decision so quickly I can't see it being thoroughly thought through.

I don't think I am mate. That is the price he is reportedly available for. Think Juve even had a bid accepted at that price.

A toxic brand? Nah. Yesterdays chip wrappers in 6 months.

You're dismissing contrary opinions now as hysterics - thats not true. I'm not hysterical about this, and I'm certainly no Suarez knocker - I've ****ing loved watching him play. I just can't be arsed with him anymore, and I can' be arsed with him affecting the future of the club I support.

The whole system is built around him and he's a unreliable man prone to nutterism. I'd sooner see a team built around someone with massive talent who isn't quite so unstable.

He's 25 though and Sturridge has a far better goal ratio over the last 12 months. I'm not sure he's worth that much, more people overhyping him because he's a Barca player. £60m and Sanchez would be acceptable.

But I do think the punishment is not appropriate.
You're a reasonable sensible guy mate. I don't for a second include you in that. But by heck there are a lot of fans with blinkers on once again.

I had an argument with my boss earlier saying it was unfair, however on reflection I think its about as reasonable as one could expect. International games aren't many in numbers and in reality Suarez could of stuck two fingers up and retired from duty. Thus making the ban null and void. We are as his employer caught in the crossfire. Collateral damage. He could easily have had 6 months.

But his world cup form is only going to inflate his value. He's been excellent.

What would he have received six months for though? Violent conduct? What's the standard punishment for violent conduct? His actions were stupid, but the reality of the situation is that nobody really got hurt - if anything Suarez came worse off because he deservedly got a smack in the gob. I understand the cumulative punishment, but banning Suarez doesn't work - he's been banned before and repeated the same behaviour. I think the ban is ridiculous and FIFA couldn't possibly have given much thought to it given how quickly they've made their decision.

You see this every tournament though, players having a temporary rise in form. He's really not that good, £20/25m player tops. Barca would probably bite your hand off for that too. No pun intended.

Bites, elbows, punches, stamps, headbutts. All similar to me.

Zidane got 3 games for doing it in the world cup final. Respect.
                          Oh I don't know.

I'm more than happy for him to carrying on affecting the future of our club. By scoring loads of goals, being generally awesome, and firing us to another title challenge.

He's ****ing dynamite for sponsers now. Every ****er is going to tune in to watch Suarez's first game back (whoever that is for).

I get you, but what I mean is that a team built around a nutter liable to long suspensions and bizarre outbursts isn't the best thing in the long run.

If he'd been there form the start of the season, with that form, Liverpool would probably have won the league.

As for Sanchez - he's not just a striker is he?

I've just had enough of him. We care about him much more than he does for us. As a fan base it would have been good to take it on the chin and not engage with opposing fans in a negative manner. Be the better people. Opposing fans are loving this as he is a player you can't help but hate if he doesn't play for your side, they are revelling in it once again. I've found if you don't respond they get more wound up. Yet alas I see of lot of reds once again trying to defend him or say its not fair etc etc. Paisley would have kicked him out. A true gentleman. I'm tired of him mate. He is guilty. The fallout is what it is.
