We have signed many players more effective in their roles than Suarez in the last 20 years.Originally posted by RedReet View Post**** me, I dread to think how you feel about 99% of our other signings for the past 20 years.
Up to now he has been Disappointing.
Does anyone genuinely think he has been great???Last edited by BG1973; 19-09-12, 10:03 AM.

I think the majority of us can see his faults - or rather, areas for improvement - but that is far out-weighed by what he brings to the team, what he is capable of and what he has done.
There is an unbelievable amount of pressure on the lad to get amongst the goals, but that is because we - as a team - are toothless. If Suarez doesn't score, then we turn to Gerrard when in reality we should be looking at Borini, *then* to Suarez.
There are more pressing areas to address in our team, other than questioning Swah-ez.

We have signed very few players fit to lace Suarez boots and the few that we have have been snapped up by bigger clubs, probably like Suarez will too.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostWe have signed many players more effective in their roles than Suarez in the last 20 years.

Disappointing by his own extremly high standards.
In his first season he was simply outstanding. Last year his form dipped badly during and after the whole Evra saga, but he finished the season well and was still probably our best player attacking player overall. This season the whole team is struggling so far but he's still on course for a decent goals return.
If all our players were as 'disappointing' as Suarez, we'd make Barcelona look like amateurs. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

he's a class act at times is suarez but lets not pretend he isnt as flawed as anyone else in our squad.
he will only look to pass 2 out of 10 times, he puts his head down and runs into blind alleys at times, his finishing is simply woeful given the amount of goals he scored in holland and his conversion rate since he came here. he's a dammed good player but not by any stretch can he be considered great.
this isnt criticism of suarez aimed at bashing him, its constuctive. i love the wee guy being at my club and would loathe to see him move elsewhere. he will improve as he isnt exactly old and has years to learn more and hopefully its with us. but i cannot see him ever being a number 9 style striker for us. he's a number 10 / 7 in the hole player who will chip in with goals but needs to up his teamplay / passing / assists.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

If you read back over posts from his first season you’ll hear people praising his approach work, his eye for a pass and the amount of chances he creates for others. People also were comparing his dribbling to Messi’s, which although a bit extreme, he was probably the best in our league. We have seen signs here that he is a good finisher (Norwich for example) and his record elsewhere suggests that he is.Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Posthe's a class act at times is suarez but lets not pretend he isnt as flawed as anyone else in our squad.

He has all the tools to be one of the worlds best, but for whatever reason it’s just not clicking for him at the minute. Once it does and once he hits top form again, there are going to be a lot of embarrassed people.

Another interesting post from earlier in the thread that many agreed with...
Now people are saying he is impossible to play with amongst other things. I know players lose form and opinions change, but **** me the drastic contrast in comments from then and now, you'd almost think he morphed into Bebe overnight.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostIt just seems like he makes everyone else play better. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
