Hopefully he sees the direction we're moving in and give us 1 more season to see if it works out. I think we'll lose at least 1 'important' player this summer, out of; Reina, Skrtel, Suarez or maybe Agger at a push.

I'd take that article with a pinch of salt, but he's absolutely incredible and if we don't get into the champs league (which we probably won't) i wouldn't begrudge him a move.
A player of his immense ability deserves to be competing at the highest level and winning trophies. It's a shame that he is isn't on view in the champs league.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has revealed his admiration for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Mancini has been linked with a move for Suarez in the summer as he looks to bring in a replacement for Mario Balotelli.
"Suarez for me is a top player," Mancini said. "I like him because he is strong and he works hard.
"For me, he is one of the best in England."
Asked if he would like to sign Suarez, Mancini laughed: "Suarez? But he plays for Liverpool.
"Yeah I like his quality. He has quality and he is strong."
Suarez recently pledged his future to Liverpool saying he would stay at Anfield even if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Can't be positive without looking over all his interviews again, noOriginally posted by Neil Young View PostAre you sure? I accept he spoke about the club and fans in glowing terms but I always thought many people's interpretations of his pronouncements and actions were wishful thinking and that his feelings were a lot more nuanced than they liked to think. Of course he liked the adulation but the idea he was "one of us" was always fanciful and was bound to be so.
If someone like Gerrard could twice consider leaving, then of course it's not surprising a player like Torres might not be loyal according to our practical definition of the word.
And you also have to consider all the things he didn't say but could have done. I bet you'll never find a definitive quote from him that compares to Suárez's comments (or Agger's of a few months ago), that can't be interpreted differently, in that more nuanced way, especially if said at any point where the team was uncompetitive for trophies (and I'm willing to take a broad definition of 'uncompetitive' given we're now in a worse position than we were for almost the whole time under Rafa).
but like I say I remember otherwise. I don't think the armband thing (someone else mentioned) was particularly significant, at least not for me. It was just a gift wasn't it?
I wouldn't call loyalty never leaving us, but I'd expect it to include not leaving in avoidably acrimonious circumstances and not lying about the extent of your loyalty. One thing off the top of my head I remember him saying, was he equated us with Atletico and said he wouldn't want to play for another Spanish or English club.
I don't have any venom for him, but I don't respect him as I would if this weren't the case.
I don't think Suarez has come out with the same pronouncements, really. He's expressed thanks and admiration aplenty, plus says he is happy to be here if we don't get a CL spot this season, but I don't think he's gone nearly as far.Like blood on iron

It would be interesting to see the number of assists in those 84 games too.
I can imagine 'goal scoring chances' are in the triple digits.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
