we should keep hold of him.....if worst comes to the worst and one of europes rich super powers come in such as Real Madrid or PSG then we should hold out for stupid money, after all Utd got 77 mil for ronaldo, and we got 50 mil off chelsea for torres who wasnt his best at the time so we should be looking at at least 60-70 mil if the worst case scenario happens, saying that though how many times have we heard rumours that hes going its getting a bit old hat now

Have the press ever said anything about his wife or daughter?, only time I can remember his wife coming into it was when she told him "to cop the **** on" in spanish!Originally posted by spud_gun View Post5Live reporting Suarez as saying 'he loves his wife and daughter and he's not prepared to tolerate the English press any more'

Jackson Martinez would be a good replacement if Suarez goes.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAye I do. At the moment I feel strangely sanguine about it. I guess it's because I have a semblance of faith that the money might be reinvested wisely. He will need to be replaced by a big hitter, not a punt like Aspas (who exictes me FWIW). Some talk of Jackson Martinez. Any other possibles?

Amo Liverpool, pero si hay una posibilidad de jugar en otro lado...
I love Liverpool but if there is a chance to play in another place...
Its a shame, I've no doubt someone at lfc will say its been said out of context but those words seem pretty clear to me. I speak a bit of Spanish there's no ambiguity there unfortunately. He talks about playing elsewhere and clearly that it would be difficult to say no to Madrid TWICE.
At least we know where he stands now.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I think he means he's just sick of the bad press in general that he gets.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostHave the press ever said anything about his wife or daughter?, only time I can remember his wife coming into it was when she told him "to cop the **** on" in spanish!
I dare say it'd be upsetting if you were to see your other half vilified day in day out in the national press.
I guess a simple retort to Suarez would be 'Don't ****ing bite anyone and the press might not be so bad'

Found the interview. Translated as best as I could.
"Luis Suarez admits that it would be hard to say no to Real Madrid. Given the information that's emerged in recent days about their interest, the Uruguayan player was asked about it on the radio program 'Sport890' .
The Reds striker confesses that he is happy at Liverpool , but this year has been difficult for him and his family so it opens the door to a possible solution.
"I have a contract with Liverpool, but it would be very difficult to say no to Real Madrid. I am happy at Liverpool, I love the city, but this year has been difficult for me, for my wife and my daughter."
Q: Are you close to moving to Real Madrid? Have you talked to your representative?
A: The desire to succeed in big teams is always there. I have talked to my agent, there is nothing in particular. I have a contract at Liverpool but to say no to Real Madrid is very difficult. Much is rumoured in this period. You never know until you see concrete offers.
Q: Have you worn your stay at Liverpool?
I am grateful to Liverpool, I am happy because of the fans. I made a mistake, I am a human, but I have been spoken to in ways that should not be, my family has suffered and some things have surpassed boundaries. I'm tired. My daughter and my wife have suffered. I am not prepared to continue suffering British journalists.
Q: If you were to go to another league, would it be Spain?
A: I love Liverpool, but if there is a chance to play somewhere else... I suffered a lot as a child to get where I am and to be crushed by the British press is unfair. They don't appreciate me as a player, just my attitude.
Q: Does the club still insist you stay?
A: Yes, they have always said that. I talked to the coach and he knows what I want as a player. There are colleagues who understand my situation, and that's that.
Q: Cavani, will either of you two end up in Madrid?
A: It is a pride for the people of Uruguay that one has the opportunity to go to Madrid. We have to wait until something concrete, and things get further. That means we're both doing a great job.
Q: Guardiola's brother is your agent. Would that help negotiate a deal for you with Madrid?
A: When a team wants a player they look at the player, not a representative."Rome wasn't built in a day, but it wasn't built by the apprentice either.

The worst thing is that Madrid are prepared to spend big money on bale but are willing to stitch us up and Suarez has just weakened our position.
we just need to get as much money as possible and move him on.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
