Do the club show the same respect you are talking about all the time? How often do they leak something just to unsettle a player they want to get rid off?Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostIt's about showing respect for the club and not publicly touting yourself.Stop the cyberhate

Nothing wrong doing that.
It is then up to the player to put in a transfer request and then it is up to the club accepting it or not.
The player should also understand that he may end up staying if we don't get a big enough offer and not sulk if that happens.
The club shouldn't hold it against the player in the future if he end up staying.
IMO Suarez won't sulk if he end up staying. All he want is to be sure that if a big enough offer is made then it should be up to him and not the club if he stay or not.Stop the cyberhate

Whilst Suarez has done himself no favours and whilst it's true that stories haven't been fabricated they could well have been embellished:Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostBelieving what they read ? Luis' desire to join Real wasn't created/fabricated by some desperate journalist trying to sell papers or by Sky Sports trying to attract viewers. On at least 3 occasions Luis himself has said that he wants to join Real Madrid, nothing to do with translation problems or sly journos twisting his words, all this speculation has been started and maintained by Luis. Fact.
Suarez said he was "very happy" and under contract at Liverpool, but he acknowledged that "you never know in football" and that "a player's ambition is always there, the ambition of wanting to play in elite teams is always there.Originally posted by Luis SuarezWe have to realise we have a new manager who is imposing a philosophy and a way of playing that the players are adapting to as best we can, we hope that it will bear fruit next year.
Interviewer: Who is better CRonaldo or LMessi?Originally posted by Luis SuarezI'm in a world-class team, an elite team like Liverpool. If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have (me), they are welcome. We would talk to the club, we would see if I want to go, if I don't want to go.
Suarez: They are both amazing and above everybody else.. very different..
Interviewer: Who would score more goals, Neymar-Messi or CRonaldo-Suarez?
Suarez:ha ha ha... I don't know... that is complicated...
Interviewer: Do you think you would get along with CRonaldo?
Suarez: ha ha ha... he is a great player... you never know.. ha ha.
So after a series of loaded questions, it's reported in the UK as:
I'm struggling to find anything where he says 'I want to join Real Madrid and leave Liverpool'. Yeah, sure, he's probably been asked a question around Real Madrid and what has followed has been the typical cliched footballer response. I'm not naive enough to think he's just being polite, but the press have seen their back pages writen for themselves with the option to blame translation.Originally posted by Luis SuarezOf course I would like to play with Ronaldo, he is a great player, you never know, but it is complicated. At the moment he is in Madrid and I am in Liverpool and I do not know what is going to happen.

Most fans can't accept that Real Madrid is a bigger club than us. Even Carra is accepting that now.
Until we qualify for the CL our best players will continue to leave for bigger clubs like Real.
It is difficult accepting that but we aren't a top class club at the moment.
Playing in the CL as soon as possible is the only way to stop that happening and get back our top class club status.
We don't have a sugardaddy that could solve the problem without CL football.Stop the cyberhate

I don't think you can go off what is said in the papers, the people interviewing the players will certainly have an agenda, be that just to be get a big story or to get a particular outcome. They will manipulate the interview by asking a series of seemingly innocent questions which build up to something big at the end and then just print the final answer as the story. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Arn the issue isn't that Luis wants to play for Real Madrid, the issue is that he has publicly disrespected this club and it's fans by stating he wants to leave on at least 3 occasions very recently, there is no need for him to do this.Originally posted by Arn View PostMost fans can't accept that Real Madrid is a bigger club than us. The correct way to do things would be for Luis and his agent to first privately contact Liverpool FC and express his desire to move and then privately contact Real Madrid and begin negotiations if Real want him.
But instead of doing this Luis publicly disrespected/insulted a club and fanbase that have given him nothing but loyalty and support.
