Cannot agree that he ever hinders us. He has the odd bad game, yes, but a hindrance he is not.

the notion its not possible is well child like.
I didn't say it was not possible and you know I didn't. Your latest attempt at putting words into my mouth is, well, childlike.

It is, however, extremely unlikely. So which players do you have in mind that you think we could buy to replace Suarez and would "actually improve us"?

Bar Messi and Ronaldo, no striker in that next level down is consistent enough or they would be up there with them two.

Much like the Rafa situation, any replacement at this moment in time is only going to be a downgrade. He is in the elite group of forward players in the world in my opinion. His replacement sure as **** wouldn't come from that group.

"He has been all of those in various games" - I'm not talking about single games, I'm talking about the overall picture. He misses a chance, has a frustrating game, and people start getting all knee-jerk and making ridiculous statements about him. After the West Brom game there were various posts suggesting we are a greater goal threat without him
the bit in bold is where I thought you meant it was impossible. also where you say the notion is laughable and ludicrous.

if you think it is possible then i am not sure what we are disagreeing on

It is extremely unlikely, and yep I think the idea of selling him in the belief that we will be able to bring in better replacements is both laughable and ludicrous. Who do you have in mind? Notice you swerved that one.

Having a player like Suarez in your team makes football great for me, amidst all the stuff that makes it ****. He may have his faults but he's exciting and loveable and I'd be more gutted losing him than I was Torres.

i dont have anything in mind. thats for the manager. My default position isnt that its impossible. It becomes more likely if we are in the CL.

my position on any player is simple IF it benifits the team to sell them and use that money then lets do it. Players come and go.

Would i trust bodge to make that call no. Would i trust Rafa yes and Rodgers yes.

if we cant use that money to improve the team we dont do it.

i have just moved on from the hero worship thing for players. I will enjoy their time here (not downing though) but they all have their time and it comes to and end and the club moves on.

                Perhaps Robert Lewandowski?

The decision to sell Suarez wouldn't be taken lightly (and I don't think Rodgers is going to do it anyway) but a huge offer and a couple of highly promising replacements would be something I'd consider if I was playing Football Manager.

I also see it from your POV that selling our best player is a ludicruous thing to contemplate and ultimately it would be a huge gamble.

It's funny that CJ keeps making 'childlike' remarks and accusing others of the same - apart from the fact he's our best player and best goalscorer, Suarez plays with a childlike abandon that is so refreshing and enjoyable to watch.

When it comes to hypothetically spending any transfer money we'd get for him, well we've seen ourselves how badly that can go. 1 in the hand is worth two in the bush - and in Suarez' case, he's worth about 4 in the bloody bush!

I've seen people mention selling him to improve the squad. Well what about the less obvious factors that Suarez brings to the squad. For 1, selling him would lead to players like Sahin to question our ambition. The chance to play with Gerrard and Suarez would be a draw for any player. On top of that, he's by all accounts a fantastic trainer. So not only is he the most skillful player in the team, he also sets a fantastic example to others. You can also add to that, the benefit the youngsters must get from training with a truly world class player day in day out.

Suarez is class. And some of the knee jerk reactions to the odd bad game have been very strange indeed.

I don't hero worship him. I just value him more highly than a vocal and IMO misguided minority. He is fantastic, we're better off with him, he should not be sold and happily he will not be sold until such a time comes when he demands a move.

Wouldn't consider selling Suarez at all because I don't think, at this moment in time, that we could replace him with anyone better.

He is wasteful at times and he has games where he's pretty poor (what footballer doesn't), but he's a ****ing menace and capable of real magic moments. I think he'll stay for a while yet as he seems to really 'get' LFC.

Done with selling our best players. Just a shame that we never got to see him and Torres up top together.
